MVPs, 2025 MCT and MVP Summits, MSFT Events and Contributions for 2024-2025

Here we are on January 1 at and I’m already thinking “how and where should I document my 2024/2025 MVP community contributions?”

April

We completed our accomplishments early April (original deadline may have been end of March), but April brought the Microsoft extended deadline. Original guidance was 24 high impact activities, but the tool only allowed five contributions to be marked as high impact. SOLUTION: Create a newsletter post and document 24 high impact activities.

Heather Ackmann asked me to speak to her class about LinkedIn for personal branding, job searching and professional networking! I had already begun connecting with Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors and one just happened to be attending Loyola!

Comms vNext the return to my favorite Teams focused Denver conference included a Microsoft Teams class, visit to Pax8 for conducting Microsoft Copilot training and a visit to Kiewit to see just some of their Microsoft Teams integration!

Also visited Red Rocks for the first time and saw Ice Cube live!

May

Coming off the community documentation exercise for 2023/2024, I began thinking about how to do this for next year and the article was so successful, I decided I would do the same thing for 2025!

I attended Microsoft Build for the first time and worked the Microsoft 365 Copilot booth! Great conversations and changed the trajectory of my contributions and involvement at Microsoft Ignite (Surface Copilot + PCs)

Got to travel to New York ahead of my Community Day trip in July. I connected with a high school and college friend. Drove to Ottawa, Canada (a story for another post) and saw my college roommate & met his wife!

June

The month of June was a vacation, planning for M365 Community Day in Chicago and NYC!

July

In July I began the month visiting Smarter Consulting In Kansas City, visiting Minnesota and M365 Community Day in Chicago and NYC!

August

Detroit and Chicago LinkedIn tours happened in September…

September

Tours of LinkedIn Detroit and Chicago for MVPs, MCTs, and Student Ambassadors

Teams User Group in Chicago

I had coffee with Amelia Hernández Osorio this month as well (another active host & participant from the Microsoft Speakers Hub )

October

Boston copilot training - spoke to Maddy D. ’s MCT chat about Teams and Live Streaming LIVE from Minnesota!

November

Microsoft Ignite was certainly a highlight in Chicago no less! Met Maddy and so many other community members in person including a brief reunion with Bryant Boyer (too many reunions to name) and finally met Chauncey Larsen in real life (irl)

December

Totally forgot about the Festive Tech Calendar, but got the “magic link” from ?? Gregor Suttie - Azure MVP to participate. The numbers that these sessions on YouTube get are as good as the marketing and promotion you put into it. This year my plan was to document a #DatingWrapped trend which blew up on TikTok in 2022 (PowerPoint presentations typically from a laptop or tablet to summarize the year in dating.

Special guest: my avatar was pretty special for this one!
