Honored to be invited as an Achieve Atlanta alum for the Achieve Atlanta Community Conversation Event at Atlanta Technical College this morning. This inspiring breakfast event brought together Achieve Atlanta Scholars/alumni, community leaders, and partners to discuss postsecondary success and upward mobility ?????? I was grateful for the opportunity to serve as a table facilitator, encouraging meaningful discussions and engagement. It was truly amazing to connect with so many remarkable individuals??? Special thanks to Bria Price, MPP for bringing this together and to Katrina C. Hunter, Ph.D. & Metara Austin Leslie, Ph.D for having me represent Atlanta Tech?????? Thank you to Achieve Atlanta and Atlanta Technical College for hosting such a powerful event.

Today was a celebration of partnerships! Achieve Atlanta hosted their yearly community breakfast and it was indeed a pleasure to be amongst so many individuals dedicated to supporting and uplifting Atlanta’s youth! Thank you Cheryl Watson-Harris, Ed.D and your team for pouring into our young people! ?? The best part was hearing directly from students who shared their experiences as past and future scholarship recipients. Special shout out to Marcus, a bright scholar from BEST Academy who represented the Atlanta Public Schools’ Student Advisory Council so well! Bravo ????????????

This morning, I attended Achieve Atlanta's Partnering for Impact Fall 2024 Community Conversation, an inspiring event dedicated to transforming the futures of APS students through education. President and Executive Director of Achieve Atlanta, Cheryl Watson-Harris, Ed.D shared how Achieve Atlanta has supported over 6,000 students—94% minority, 96% Pell Grant eligible, and 50% first-generation college students—with $57M in funding to help them access and succeed in post-secondary education. Hearing from scholars like Marcus Daniel, a senior at B.E.S.T Academy with over $1M in scholarships and 41 college acceptances, and leaders like Dr. Dwionne Freeman, Georj Lewis, and Ariel (Cochrane-Brown) Norris, PhD underscored the power of partnerships to make dreams a reality. Despite the uncertainty of the world around us, one thing is CERTAIN: students across Metro Atlanta and every corner of this country are getting ready to launch into adulthood and looking to the adults in their lives to help them take those next steps. That's why, I'm excited OneGoal Metro Atlanta will be hosting our 4th Annual Student Summit this Friday at Clayton State, focused on *career exposure*. With over *500* students in attendance, 100+ community members will be there to volunteer, host career panels and host workshops on topics like: Careers AI, Careers in Sports, Aviation, Healthcare, Skilled Trades, the Film Industry, Law, Politics and more. There will be music, there will likely be dancing, there will be learning, and there will be JOY.
