MVP vs EVP: What Fits Your Startup App Needs?

The very moment an app idea hits our mind, we perform market analysis and announce it as the most unique, profitable and valuable idea on the planet. We spend all of our savings and efforts into turning that idea into a functional application.

Though it’s a good practice to ensure that the current market prefers your app idea, what if it does not need such an app in the future? What if you invest all of your efforts, time and funds into developing an application and discover that the market needs have changed?

Two methods to prevent such situation and ensure that the market appreciates your app idea and you reap the best outcomes are MVP and EVP.

MVP (Minimal Viable Product) is the process to land into the market with the most initial, functional app module and upgrade it successively as per the customer feedback until the whole project goes live. This makes it easier to enter the market and change your app development plan in real-time and save time, money and efforts in case the market needs change.

EVP (Exceptional Viable Product), on the other side, is a process of building an unbeatable version of your app which brings more eyeballs to your app project. The EVP app is more often the close-to-done version and demands continuous in-house testing rather than making the application available directly to the end users.

Both methods cater to the needs of the startups in one way or the other and help them gain exclusive advantages. But, the question that arises here is  - Which one is best? What should startups choose for a better future?

Considering the importance this question holds in the sphere of Startup application development, we have written an article titled, “MVP or EVP: What is the Right Option for Your Startup?” In this article, we have shared a brief of both the concepts and situations when choosing MVP is the right decision and when opting for EVP app development is an advantage.
