Georgia is a country surrounded by the Caucasus Mountains with surprising views and the tastiest?cuisine.   • ?Khinkali is the most recognizable and important dish in Georgia. it is essentially a large?soup dumpling stuffed with meat and spices. Traditionally, It is made with beef, pork and lamb, but for vegetarians, there is Khinkali with potatoes, mushroom or with cheese?as well. It is important to know the proper way to eat Khinkali. Firstly, you hold the ‘crown’ of the Khinkali with your hand and lift the bottom part with your other hand, so it’s upside down. Slowly bite a small hole in the Khinkali and drink the delicious juice inside. Then bite in and enjoy the rest!

  • The traditional Khachapuri, one of Georgian cuisine’s iconic and famous dishes, has received the status of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Georgia. Traditional Khachapuri is made with eggs, flour and cheese. It is a fact that cheese-filled bread is popular worldwide and wherever it goes, Khachapuri finds a warm place in the hearts of any nation. There are different types of Khachapuri: Adjarian, Megrelian, Imeretian, Gurian and several more.

  • Chakapuli is a very famous Georgian stew consisting of either beef or lamb meat, sour plums, spring onions, green peppers, white wine, and herbs and seasonings such as tarragon, and coriander, garlic, and salt. It is usually prepared between May and mid-summer until sour plums are unripe. Chakapuli is served during Orthodox Easter, and it is recommended to serve it hot with bread. it will be great if you taste it with Georgian wine as well.

  • Chakhokhbili is a Georgian chicken dish that is stewed in a flavorful sauce that’s spiced with things like adjika and plenty of fresh herbs like coriander. It is a perfect representation of Georgian cuisine, in which fresh pairs with robust to yield a concoction of incredible flavors and vibrant colors. Here, chicken is simmered down with a generous amount of fried onions and ripe tomatoes, a plentiful of fresh herbs, garlic, and a pinch of Georgian spices that makes this dish truly Georgian. So, if you like spicy food you will love Chakhokhbili for sure.

  • Lobiani is a popular Georgian bread that is filled with mashed kidney beans and flavored with parsley, coriander, black pepper and Georgian spices. The dough consists of flour, yeast, salt, and water. There is also a variety of bread called Rachuli Lobiani, which is prepared with bacon. Georgian name of beans is Lobio that is why it is called Lobiani and most of the Georgians prepare it on 17 December St. Barbare’s day. So, it is a great option to taste Lobiani as well.

  • Satsivi is a cold dish also known as chicken (or turkey) in walnut sauce. Traditionally, Satsivi is made of walnuts, water, garlic, a combination of dried herbs, vinegar, cayenne pepper, and salt to taste. It is one of the most important and famous dish for New Year and it is always serve cold straight from the fridge, even in winter. Satsivi has a special place on every holiday and I am sure you are going to love it.

  • Churchkhela is a homemade Georgian product that is usually made in Autumn when the primary ingredients, grapes and nuts, are harvested. It is a fact that Georgian soldiers used to consume them when they went to the battle. The main ingredients to prepare a smooth thickened mass are grape juice, corn flour and nuts (or walnuts). The traditional technology of churchkhela in the Kakheti region was inscribed on the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Georgia list in 2015. It has health benefits, is 100% natural and extremely delicious snack. That is why do not forget to try it out.
