Must-Read Sales Management Book
I have just finished reading one of the best Sales Management books ever. This book is called "The sales acceleration formula" by Mark Roberge.
I can guarantee that it will be one of the most efficient investment for every Sales Manager.
From my personal experience, it was tough to find a book which covers all the aspects of a sales management process in a company. Furthermore, the majority of Sales Management books regard sales as a mode of art, and as each art, it 's hard to use a data-driven approach to the Sales Management Process.
Throughout my professional career, I was using different methods for hiring sales employees, training, developing KPIs, experimenting with sales strategies. For some activities, I was using data-driven approaches. However, often I used more "creative" sales approach and often felt that there were more "scientific" methods for Sales Management.
I believe that Roberge's book suggests one of the best methodologies which almost every sales manager can implement in his/her industry. Moreover, "The sales acceleration formula" covers nearly all aspects which successful manager should take into consideration. This book is an easy read, only approximately 220 pages, covers the following topics:
1. How to hire the best salespeople using the data-driven approach.
2. How to train your sales team.
3. How to manage you sales people (coaching, motivation and development).
4. How to generate demand for your product.
5. Technology and experimentation.
I don't want to oversell Roberge's book, but I really think that this is one of the best $25 investments you can ever make. An excellent study which can be used by Startups, SMB and Enterprises.
