Must have the true longing for the coming of God's Kingdom!

Only those who are bored in seeing the evils of this world can pray the prayer "Let Your kingdom be come." Peter eagerly said, "We are looking forward to a new heaven and a new Earth, where righteousness dwells." (2 Peter 3:13).

Let us have a look of today's world that filled with terrible cruelty and the degraded immorality. When we read the newspapers today, following prayer should flow from our hearts, "Ah my Father, Thy kingdom come! I have not asked for your kingdom to come for my own personal comfort. Instead, soon the rule of your righteousness will be established, and your name will be glorified forever on this Earth, which was created for Your glory!”

Jesus said, "The last days will be like the days of Noah." Noah was seen as a separated righteous man in a world full of ungodly people. He preached righteousness, seeing the evil sins of the people around him and felt agony in his heart (2 Peter 2:5). This Noah was longing for righteousness to dwell in the depths of his heart and had begun to preach justice. Undoubtedly, then, the "prayer of Noah" would have been, "Let Your kingdom be come."

All believers today say that "Christ will soon return and establish His kingdom on this Earth". But what evidence is there to find out whether they really believe what they say? Here 1 John 3:3 proclaims, "All who have this hope in Him purify themselves, just as He is pure". Therefore, the testimony of whether one truly believes that Christ will return to Earth, is that of a witness who "prepares himself as quickly as a bride prepares herself ready for her bridegroom!"

Prayer:

Heavenly Father! We pray that we not only free ourselves from the degraded society of today, but to change all these and let your kingdom come to this Earth! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
