Musings: Road
Musings: Road
I keep thinking of the saying of "A Road Not Travelled," when I hear this word being mentioned. The "road" is actually from a Robert Frost poem that says, "A Road NOT Taken." Robert Frost lived from 1874 to 1963. This poem has had a profound effect on me every since I read and studied its words and nuances back in junior high school which was a very long period of time ago.
It is so very important that I will rewrite it here.
The Road Not Taken
by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
I find myself thinking about my path - my journey through life. I have always tried to do more with what I got or I had. I always was driven to do awesomely well in life despite barricades on my road.
I have not steered away from the various divergent paths and I have often taken the one less trodded on, for sure, as I have been encouraged and enticed by its path and the adventure it would give.
We are here on this Earth, in this lifetime, to learn, grow and love.

If we don't take chances now in our lives, when will we?
That is it. There are choices in life where we need to choose a path. Unfortunately, in this lifetime, we can not take both paths. We need to make a choice or a set of choices as if jumping hurdles in a running race but is it really a race after all or a walking meditation through life of self-realization and development? Sometimes, there is not a right or wrong path but a learning opportunity so if you think about it, there are NO WRONG answers, paths or roads. If you do something negative, there will be consequences. It is the integral law of cause and effect. You will have a life review at the end of your life even if you seemingly get away with it in this lifetime and in this society. God does not miss a beat and knows everything - even your real intentions behind actions and what you speak.
I have tried to take the road less taken, however, again, society tries to force us all down the same highway. I say, why not meander down the path through the woods where there is diversity and change? Why not go on your path of self-examination and self-appreciation? Why follow along with the other sheep? Be an original! Be Authentic, Compassionate and Wise! Be willing to be Creative as God would want us to be - our uniquely and authentically made Selves - Our beams of Inner Light shining brightly as we traverse down our own personal roads.
Yes, Go out and Shine Your Light down your respective path and journey in life. I have tried to shine on my own path and so I encourage you to take a chance and pursue your dreams too!
My goal is not to look back and regret what I have done and more importantly what I have NOT done. I am to pursue and progress on the path of what I was meant to be, do and have.
Namaste My Friends!!!
