Thanks to everyone that hit me back with your best of 2017-I really appreciate getting turned on to new stuff, things that might have passed me by or I just flat out ignored.
Here is what I have been listening to recently.
Curtis Harding-Face Your Fear I think I have listened to this album more in the last 4 weeks than I did when it originally came out in October. Still not quite sure why he hasn't caught on more-indie soul. Ghost Of You-https://bit.ly/2DlR3JI
Greta Van Fleet-From The Fires Not sure how I missed these guys (kids). I've seen the name for a while but never took the time to listen to them until someone who I was working with told me about how great they are. Super derivative but fresh at the same time. If you like classic straight ahead rock-there isn't any reason this won't satisfy. Talk On The Street-https://bit.ly/2FVyQo6
Jeremy Enigk-Ghosts Sunny Day Real Estate frontman latest solo release. So far it seems to be holding up as one of his better releases. Amazing Worlds-https://bit.ly/2DlC9mU
H.C McEntire-Lionheart Solo album from Mount Moriah singer. Feels like listening to a Trio album (Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton). You have to give this one a few listens to really appreciate. A Lamb, A Dove- https://bit.ly/2mXJJhi
Lucille Furs-Lucille Furs If you are a fan of Foxygen (We Are The 21st Century Era), you might like this Chicago Band. Pink Noise-https://bit.ly/2DQn5ij
Chris Webby-Wednesday I like his new album way better than the new Eminem album (which bums me out). Raw Thoughts- https://bit.ly/2DttC5p
Jeff Rosenstock-POST- Pop punk..I imagine seeing him live would be a drunken party. Beating My Head Against A Wall-https://bit.ly/2mWvZmV
R.I.P. Delores When I was an assistant buyer at National Record Mart (my first real job in the music industry), "Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We" by the Cranberries was one of the first "promo" albums I ever received. I listened to it over and over and played it nearly every week for a year when I did my show on the NPR station in town-WYEP. After hearing of the passing of singer Delores O'Riordan I have been going back and listening to their albums (like we all do when an artist dies). "Everybody Else" holds up remarkably well even nearly 25 years later. I Still Do- https://bit.ly/2Bf4hGn
