MUSIC AGENDA ≥ Why Music Artists Fail #2

What's on today's agenda?

OVERVIEW

You'd be surprised to find out that 3 simple things help artists fail. But, let's focus on another one of the things that prevent success.

Why Artists Fail #2

Do you ever get that feeling that you have to do everything yourself, and so you try to, it eventually seems to get you nowhere, and you begin to feel "stuck"? Ughhh.

Most of all, you're working hard but not seeing the results? You see, I'm always willing to try new things, and I would try to do as much as I could to feel like I was getting things done. I had some good habits to help me stay organized, which I felt was reasonable. I would create a "to-do list" to keep me on task.

My problem was that it was always over 25 tasks long. None of which really focused on what I needed to accomplish or too many things I felt I needed to achieve my goals. My schedules would be packed to the max, and I'd get super busy. Running myself into exhaustion and burnout. Do you know the feeling?

Like so many others, I suffered from Unclear Objectives. Too many "things to do" and not enough focused on getting something accomplished. Feeling overwhelmed but let my pride get in the way to say I didn't need any help or assistance. Being super busy with "stuff."

My Solution: I found that many busy people are out there, but they're not productive. I finally stopped myself from being so busy. A subject I speak about now is called "Stop being busy and start being productive." This concept allows me to teach, in 3 simple steps, how to create and execute the short-term activities to accomplish my long-term goals. No more burnout and no more not having enough time in a day.

Final Note

Truthfully, you don't have to do everything yourself. Focus on what you need to accomplish and the best way to get it done. Then, go out there and do it. I know it sounds so simple and easy to do but as I've learned, what is easy to do, is also very easy not to do.

Review

Steps to Success:

  1. SET A GOAL
  2. FOCUS ON A SINGLE OBJECTIVE
  3. GIVE ALL YOUR ATTENTION FOR THE TIME ALLOTTED TO THAT OBJECTIVE
  4. BREAK DOWN THE OBJECTIVE INTO SMALLER STEPS
  5. FOCUS ON THE STEPS YOU'LL NEED TO COMPLETE THE STEP
  6. COMPLETE EACH STEP ONE AT A TIME
  7. ADD A TIME CONSTRAINT THAT WILL PUSH YOU TO COMPLETE IT ASAP
  8. MOVE ON TO THE NEXT OBJECTIVE UNTIL YOU'VE COMPLETED YOUR GOAL

It might sound tedious to focus so intently on a single objective, however, the smaller the objective, the quicker you'll get it done and move on to the next. Before you know it, all the objectives have been completed and the goal has been reached. We're aiming for progress, NOT perfection.
