Museum in good hands

Museum in good hands

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting the new Director of the Auckland Museum, Dr David Gaimster. David has the experience and vision to drive the future growth and direction of this Auckland Icon.

It is interesting that as an outsider he sees things that as locals we cannot see. For example where the Domain touches the main arterial and transport routes there is no signage to tell you where the “Castle on the Hill” is located. This is all good for us Aucklander's who know by instinct where the Museum is but not for the 2 million visitors to Auckland each year.

We look forward to working with David to make the Museum more accessible. See the plans for the year ahead.
