Endpoint security platforms and solutions have evolved over the past few years, each claiming to enhance your security device protection. However, endpoint security and data protection products claiming ransomware protection typically attempt to protect the device in three ways. Let's discuss each technique one at a time.
Detection and blocking
To detect and block ransomware, they use a variety of techniques, including signatures, machine learning, behavior analysis, and others. A typical function of antivirus software is to detect and block ransomware. Despite these solutions, Fully Undetectable (FUD) ransomware cannot be blocked.
Immutable backups
Some anti-ransomware solutions also suggest putting your backup files on immutable storage. This is normally the 3rd copy of your 3-2-1 strategy, placed offsite. Whenever ransomware is detected, it cannot gain access to these files.?
Protecting specified folders
A third approach is to block unknown programs from writing to protected folders so that only approved applications can access them. By doing so, ransomware, much of the new variants are unknown, should not be able to encrypt files in protected folders.
A Different Approach -?NeuShield Data Sentinel
A different approach is taken by NeuShield Data Sentinel, which creates a protective shield between your files and applications. It is possible for users to revert any unwanted changes that have been made when ransomware or any other application attempts to change their files.
NeuShield’s revolutionary?Mirror Shielding? technology can preserve the original file without requiring a backup, which allows Data Sentinel to protect files with no additional disk activity (I/O).
In addition, the boot portion (MBR) of your drive is monitored to prevent disk wiper malware from overwriting the boot record. Raw disk access is also monitored to prevent wipers and malicious ransomware programs from destroying your drive. This is essential because, without a working device, the availability of recovered data is of no use.
Finally, NeuShield Data Sentinel offers extensive compatibility with most existing antivirus and endpoint security products. This allows you to run NeuShield alongside your existing security products to fortify your computer and protect important data.

2 å¹´Nice article. Good to see a step change for data recovery that could help businesses eliminate the painful experiences seen today when recovering data for operational and exceptional incidents.
Gord very interesting post; There are numerous things that can cause a computer or application to stop working in today's complex computing environment. You may receive this error due to a bad patch, a change to your system settings, or even a newly installed application. NeuShield makes it easy to?quickly regain access?to your computer, applications, and data.
