MURDER ON THE STREETS

MURDER ON THE STREETS

Dear Linkers, this post is very different to my usual technical related ones, in as much that I am reaching out to you all on behalf of a family friend who tragically lost her son to a knife wielding thug, who is awaiting sentencing this week, however, the perpetrator getting life will not bring her son back, and we need stronger deterrents to prevent it happening to all of our kin,

My recent post about this has got nigh 3.000 views and likes, and as interesting as that may sound, does nothing really, and she could really do with our help in creating awareness at government level, as they do not apparently seem to be doing too much about it, or certainly not as much as if it were a major infrastructure project, or to do with Brexit etc where financial share divi's and profits are the real targets, (imho) ?, And for any of you with children, or grandchildren, I'm sure you will be able to put your business interests aside for a couple of minutes, and take a short while to digest some of the following, or better still, go to the Josh Hanson Link below this article to do your bit, as Mrs Hanson, and many other parents are trying to do for you all, whether you are actually aware or not ?

The following is just a recent snippet from Josh's mother, Tracey Hanson, inclusive of the kind of stats that are being somewhat overlooked, and we all hope that with a little bit of pressure from some of you Linkers that it will make a difference, however small it may be ?

"It is alarming how little the public do know, they are generally very shocked to hear what I and other Mother’s like Connie, who suffers immense pain too, have to say. I continue to be a part of pressure groups where we highlight the lack of action being taken and these groups are inclusive. There is no bias, no selection process, no politics or agenda other than sharing what we know with the country while asking the public to get involved and raise awareness. We need everyone to write to their MP’s to ask them what is being done to tackle serious violent crime in their area, if they feel that this is not satisfactory they need to press for open conversations with council leaders, the community and the Police Crime Commissioner in their area. It is not the area that is the problem rather the lack of services in the area, “There were 43,516 knife crime offences in the 12 months ending March 2019” alone in the UK https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-42749089 and this figure has increased dramatically. This is everyone’s problem and action needs to be taken because it can happen to anyone. I echo your thoughts and feel that we as grieving parents should not have to highlight these issues but if we don’t who will?"

If you would like to do more to help, then please open the following link, and perhaps think how you would be reacting should it be one of your kin who were so brutally murdered, and if you felt that not enough was being done to help others too, whether you petition, or donate, fund raise or not, apathy is not the answer, and reactive policing after a murder is doing absolutely nothing to help, will you ?
