Murder commited in ólafsfj?reur and MPs debate arming the police.

Hello dear readers,

Some disturbing news broke over the weekend from the northern town of ólafsfj?reur where a man was stabbed to death. This is the third murder in Iceland this year which is a lot on Icelandic standard.

The rise in violent crimes recently seems to have launched?a public debate?of whether?police should be better armed and some politicians are heavily in favour of that including our current Minister of Justice. More on that below.
