Method Update Rule

40 CFR Part 136 Publication Delay

Due to the changes in the administration, there has been a freeze on EPA publications until further notice. This means the Method Update Rule for 40 CFR Part 136 will not be published until this freeze is relaxed.

This was mentioned by Lara Phelps, the Designated Federal Official for the Environmental Laboratory Advisory Board (ELAB) at the face-to-face meeting and the 2017 Winter meeting of The NELAC Institute (TNI) yesterday. 

So for now, we are all in a holding pattern with moving ahead to implementing changes to the MDL procedure, the 600 series methods and other method citation changes. There can be no more changes to this document, because it has been signed, but will not be effective until published.
