Munzai's Gutsy SDRs & their Imaginative Blaming!

Munzai's Gutsy SDRs & their Imaginative Blaming!

It's the first Friday the 13th of the year 2024, also, interestingly, officially recognized as the ‘Blame Someone Else Day’.??

Folks are getting ready to give their consciousness a rest and point at someone else for all the misfortunes that may befall them. Which, when you think about it, are what superstitions are all about.?

Emailed the wrong person? Blame the ladder you walked under.?

Bad mood? Blame a random crack on the pavement on the way to work.?

After all, it’s the spookiest day for the superstitious, and perhaps even some enlightened minds.??

But the blaming part is fun.??

Only for today!??

It’s officially Blame Someone Else Day!?

Mischief Monkeys?

Munzai Solutions’ has enough of them – the youthful and mischievous SDRs – that keep pulling pranks on each other. Yes, I am getting to the blame game part because they are very good at it, besides being great at their jobs, which are cold outreach, and inbound and outbound marketing!?

The Name of the Game is Blame, No Matter How Lame?

The marketing guy at Munzai regularly orders samosas (fried pastries/snacks with fillings). One SDR strolled in and asked him if he had any, since he is a gregarious fellow and freely shares his snacks with the team. However, that day, he didn't get them.??

End of story? Nope. Soon, the SDR's tummy rumbled, and he grumbled that he was hungry and it was all due to the marketing fellow's fault!?

Dear reader, it was not at all the said SDR’s fault.??

How could he and many other mischief monkeys have thought of bringing lunch from home or ordering it themselves? That would have been utterly preposterous!?

Chair And a Piece?

It makes a centerpiece!?

At least, that is what Munzai Solutions' SDRs (read mischief monkeys) thought.?

My team of exuberant SDRs had happened to close several deals and set appointments, and fortunately, their head manager was away.?

It was a double reason to celebrate!?

Perhaps the chair was old.??

Possibly, there's another explanation.?

In their shenanigans - I thought they were playing a game on the revolving chair - the chair broke.?

You know, they could have picked it up and dumped it in storage. Nobody would be wiser.??

This is what they did.??

They dedicated a workstation to mount up the top part of the chair.??

It served as some kind of centerpiece or trophy and stayed there for quite some time till the CMO saw it and decided enough was enough.??

Have you figured out who was blamed for the broken chair???

The SDRs???

Nah, they had closed deals, remember??

Then who? The head manager, of course.?

He was absent; otherwise, the monkeys would not have been up to no good!??

The HR Troubles?

The HR lady mentioned it in jest, although now I am skeptical.?

Human Resources can easily extend its meaning to Headache on Repeat, you know, brought on by whom.?

This text conversation is stuck in my mind:?

HR: You were late, today??

SDR: Because *Ben was late.?

HR (gritting teeth): What's Ben got to do with this??

SDR: He had a flat tire.?

HR (ready to pull her hair): I know that! But why were you late??

SDR: He came late to pick me up.??

You see, it's all Ben's fault!??

*The name is changed.?

Insane Blames Keep 'em Smiling & Sane?

These are the funny tidbits that not only happen on Blame Someone Else Day but the year-round at Munzai Solutions. This light-hearted blaming and poking in the ribs glues the team and keeps them young at heart. This relaxed yet pull-it-together attitude gets them to make those never-ending cold calls with ease day in and day out.?

Caution When Needed?

With my team, I am lucky; no serious intervention is needed. They are young yet responsible enough not to let that spill onto work or another team member.??

However, we are, after all, human beings, and mistakes happen. Somebody's not completed their call quota or not sent in their reports on time. In such circumstances, the project managers come in and sort it out.??

Own It?

Sometimes it's no one's fault, like when the power and internet were down due to heavy thunderstorms.??

However, in such a scenario, you try not to blame the weather, even though you feel tempted.??

Because the weather is that non-living entity — that something else — on whom we palm blame to escape responsibility.??

Once you adhere to — I heard someone else repeating it like a mantra:?

‘Anything goes wrong, it's your fault!’—?

You can up your game.??

Despite sounding like a very depressive quotation, it helped me.?

I knew the rains weren't my fault but not preparing for them would have been mine.??

These were my checkboxes for Munzai Solutions:?

  • Backup power in case of blackouts.??

  • Closeby Internet Cafe is available to counter unforeseen internet issues.?

  • Onsite, remote, and hybrid SDR and marketing teams are all equipped with laptops, headsets, and peripheral devices so WFH (work from home) is never an issue.?

Scratching My Head?

Positive quotes stuck in the passage, on a door, and near workstations are something we have at Munzai Solutions, thanks to our CMO.??

One was a beautiful Robert Frost quote:??

"In three words I can sum up what I've learned about life:?

It goes on"?

Now it looks like one of my monkeys has nibbled on the edges.??

I would love to nag and blame the SDR till his ears turn red.?

Luckily, for him, I haven't found the guy!?

Frantic Marketing Frenzy?

Hold on, this will make sense soon.?

Munzai's marketing team operates on the day shift while the project managers and SDRs, come in on the night shift.??

And since we are a sales agency, the sales team far outnumbers the marketing team.?

I recall when I used to hold a job, my boss had mentioned that your sales team is the heart of a company.??

At that time, I didn't realize the depth of his statement.??

As the CEO of Munzai Solutions, I appreciate and understand how crucial my sales team is to the cold outreach campaigns we run for our clients.?

That means they get away with things now and then.??

Routinely, somebody from the frantic marketing (poor fellas are outgunned) goes into a frenzy, no...?

not because they are loaded with deadlines.?

They blame the sales team for their frantic states because apparently, the SDRs run off with their headphones, laptop chargers, or mice.?

I wonder when the sales team will swipe their laptops and LED monitors.?

The End of the Blame?

Munzai's SDRs may act as mischief makers but as I remind the marketing team, they buckle down and pull through it all. They set appointments, close deals, blame each other, and pull pranks in good humor!?
