I have several:

First, a movie plot where a woman’s father [and her fiancé’s family] does not approve of the man she wants to marry – due to differences in the two families culture and background – that’s never been seen before on film, right?

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner is a 1967 American romantic comedy-drama film:

When Joanna Drayton (Katharine Houghton), a free-thinking white woman, and black doctor John Prentice (Sidney Poitier) become engaged, they travel to San Francisco to meet her parents. Matt Drayton (Spencer Tracy) and his wife Christina (Katharine Hepburn) are wealthy liberals who must confront the latent racism the coming marriage arouses. Also attending the Draytons' dinner are Prentice's parents (Roy E. Glenn Sr., Beah Richards), who vehemently disapprove of the relationship…

Second, it's almost 60 years since the original TV show first aired.?

The moviegoing public of today, and citizens of the fictional city of?Mockingbird Heights; Camelot County, New Jersey - where the Munsters live, should *not* be upset by a "strange" looking family.?

Inside ‘House of the Dragon’ with George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal, N.J. creators of ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel

After all, what could be called "strange" in New Jersey ?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munster_Mansion#1964:_The_Munsters_TV_series

In fact, we should welcome real world diversity,?right?

Since being "different"?cannot?be used as the plot, what would i suggest?

A) I would have Grandpa run for mayor, or even Governor!?

It turns out that centuries of wisdom allow him to come up with clever, creative and - dare I say it - *liberal* policies and solutions.

You got me!

Since I have little imagination, I'm just cutting and pasting the?actual?story of Al Lewis, who played Grandpa in the original TV series:

During the campaign, the opposition harass the Munsters by having someone complain that "Spot" = a *real* Komodo dragon, isn't allowed as a pet by zoning in the city of Mockingbird Heights. They do have a point.?

You guessed it!

Worse?than calling him a vampire, Grandpa is labeled a "democratic socialist" in attack ads on TV !

Just like the real 2022 candidate for US Senate from Pennsylvania, John Fetterman.?

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2022/apr/06/penn-progress/no-evidence-fetterman-is-democratic-socialist/

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2022-election/john-fetterman-charts-unconventional-path-flip-senate-seat-democrats-rcna29349

I hear you!

Real GOP candidate for Senator from?PA, Dr. Mehmet Oz, has *only* ever registered to vote in?New Jersey.?Why not use someone like him as Grandpa's opponent?

https://newjerseyglobe.com/congress/mehmet-oz-is-still-a-registered-n-j-voter-could-he-return-in-time-for-june-primary/

Okay...

Grandpa would?refuse?to play "dirty" and attack Dr. Oz for being a Muslim who is a citizen of semi authoritarian Turkey - where he can - and has - voted for the sort of Dictator.

Strong language, Stephen.?

Erdogan could?not?be called a "dictator" -?unless?he illegally planned to run for a third term as President (like in America, Turkey has a fixed two term limit).

https://www.nytimespost.com/turkey-erdogan-cant-run-for-third-term-as-eager-opposition-leader-eyes-up-power-grab/

Or, like Russian President Putin, Erdogan is forcing a rigged referendum to their Constitution?to allow an extra term in office.

https://www.jamesinturkey.com/can-recep-tayyip-erdogan-run-for-a-third-term-as-president/

Is my story stupid?

Well, IMHO, my idea is still probably?better?than the real movie, where, stuck in 1960's stereotypical fashion, they would have the plot consist of the blended family eventually (after marriage) moving from Europe to the USA – and then having their neighbors shunning the Munsters for being "different".

Now, i would have Lilly played as a woman who is vegan - and rescues animals - this explains how the family got the Komodo Dragon.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheri_Moon_Zombie#Personal_life

i would have Butch Patrick - the real life actor who played Eddie in the 1960's TV show - play the mayor of Mockingbird Heights - or, even better - Grandpa's campaign manager.

https://scifi.radio/2021/07/22/interview-with-butch-patrick-eddie-talks-munsters-rob-zombies-upcoming-remake/

alternately...

Have Butch Patrick be the GOP opponent;

In any case, also have actual vegan US Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) be either Grandpa's campaign manager or consultant.

https://vegnews.com/2021/2/cory-booker-becomes-first-vegan-senator-on-the-senate-agriculture-committee

https://www.livekindly.co/vegan-new-jersey-senator-cory-booker-celebrates-plant-based-diet-at-vegfest/

This ties in to both politics and vegans.

Actress Pat Priest is still alive; can we get her to appear - as a fan service cameo?

As Columbo always said, one last thing:?

The movie could be 3D, but?*not*?in hyper realistic color - as the?actual?2022 movie?is?to be.??

Rob Zombie’s ‘The Munsters’ Is D.O.A.

Prequel tries hard, but nearly every step in this nostalgia-fest goes wrong.
