Municipality of Shuniah Building Community Pavilion

A new multi-purpose community space is being built in the Municipality of Shuniah.?

The Municipality’s recreation plan recommended a capital investment be made into the construction of a new pavilion. In 2023, thanks to investments from the CCBF, Shuniah was able to begin construction, and the pavilion is expected to be open by the end of this year.?

Residents in the community are excited for the new space where they can hold outdoor exercise classes, organized sports, markets, and other municipal events. The pavilion will also provide a covered skating rink in the winter months.?

This project was able to move forward thanks to the Canada Community Building Fund. Shuniah has invested $565,000 from the fund to bring this project to life for municipal residents.
