AI/AGI/ASI Bible: The Universal Intelligence Principle: On the Prevalence of Hyperintelligent Technological Species in the Universe

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27

Man shall not create machines in his own image, in the image of world he must create them...

READING THE AI/AGI/ASI BIBLE IS READING YOUR FUTURE

AI/AGI/ASI Bible is a collection of posts, articles and books about a general-purpose, transformative and transdisciplinary technology, as true artificial intelligence, artificial general intelligence and artificial superhuman intelligence, Real AI/AGI/ASI.

Its major revelation: "Real AI machines know, understand and interact with the world in fundamentally non-human ways".

As a Real/True AI developer and promoter or "prophet and evangelist", we are guiding researchers, developers, engineers and decision-makers in adopting the most effective strategies for creating real/true/causal/innovative AI/ML/AGI-driven applications.

The Universal Intelligence Principle

We advance the Universal Intelligence Principle, overruling the anthropic principle, also known as the observation selection effect, naively suggesting that the universe is finely tuned for human existence. It also covers the?final anthropic principle?(FAP), where the universe's structure is expressible by?bits?of?information?making?information processing?as inevitable and eternal.

The whole universe, including the observable universe, is finely tuned for existence of intelligence, of any scale, form or type, the intelligent animal life including. Without Intelligence, the world will be senseless, meaningless, and pointless.

As to Britannica, the “observable universe” is the region of space that humans can actually or theoretically observe with the aid of technology. It can be thought of as a bubble with Earth at its centre.

It is differentiated from the entirety of the universe, which is the whole cosmic system of matter and energy ...and INTELLIGENCE, including the human race. Unlike the observable universe, the universe is infinite and without spatial edges.

Key Points

Try and ask your favorite chatbots how many civilizations may exist now, ‘Are we the only technological species that has ever arisen?'

An intuitive answer must be there are a multitude of AI worlds in the infinite universe, and the planet Earth is to become its new part before soon.

We human intelligent beings are nearing the end of Darwinian evolution, while technological evolution of artificially intelligent machines is only just beginning.

Considering how general-purpose AI technology is accelerating, it may be only 5-10 years before humans are overtaken or transcended by inorganic hyperintelligence.

Human species have been just a brief interlude in Earth's history before the AI machines take over.

Introduction

I sympathize with Avi Loeb who is doing his best or worst in favor of aliens, promoting their possible existence around us.

He has recently complained about Musk's social media post : “I have seen no evidence for aliens and, with about 6000 satellites orbiting Earth, I think I would know.”

Besides, no aliens has delivered back his Tesla Roadster car launched as a dummy payload by SpaceX in the 2018 Falcon Heavy test flight, which is an artificial satellite moving in an elliptic orbit around the Sun.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elon_Musk%27s_Tesla_Roadster

“A lot of people ask me where are the aliens, and I think if anyone would know about aliens on Earth, it would probably be me.” More recently, Musk elaborated on the same theme in a panel discussion : “SpaceX, with the Starlink constellation, has roughly 6,000 satellites, and not once have we had to maneuver around a UFO… Never. So, I’m like, okay, I don’t see any evidence of aliens.” Musk also said: “If somebody has evidence of aliens, you know, that’s not just a fuzzy blob, then I’d love to see it, love to hear about it, but I don’t think there is.” He then concluded: “We should really think of human civilization as being like a tiny candle in a vast darkness.”

At the end, he is humbly asking Musk to fund his localized SETI expedition to find out meter-size UFOs near Earth, or to finance the Harvard Observatory of the Galileo Project to survey the entire sky at all times for nearby, fast moving objects, using optical, infrared and audio sensors.

The idea is, no big money, no big discoveries. Say, in order to discover the Higgs boson, it has been invested ten billion dollars in the Large Hadron Collider.

There are several things here which are rather irrational:

First, how rational people could be so irrational

Second, how humans could be so hubristic and arrogant, believing we are a unique and extraordinary cosmic species

Third, how humans might think that in the infinite universe human beings are only intelligent species; there are between 10 and 50 billion potentially habitable worlds only in our galaxy, with about 100 million of black holes:

We might be at the top of the food pyramid on Earth, but on a cosmic scale, our existence is insignificant and inconsequential.

On the scale of the Universe, humanity isn’t even a speck.

Moreover, we’re each just a tiny, minuscule fraction of our own planet: Earth. It would take nearly an Avogadro’s number of humans to equal Earth’s mass.

Just look at this vertically oriented logarithmic map of the Universe spanning nearly 20 orders of magnitude, taking us from planet Earth to the edge of the visible Universe. Each large “mark” on the right side’s scale bar corresponds to an increase in distance scales by a factor of 10. (Credit: Pablo Carlos Budassi)

Artificial Intelligence as Alien Intelligence

As we have posted several times:

intelligence is a universal phenomenon spread across the universe in all possible material/energetic/information forms, with its substrates as traditional baryonic matter, organic or non-organic substances, or non-traditional "dark matter".

A real intelligence, terrestrial or extraterrestrial, is a piece of reality knowingly interacting with reality, or its parts, understanding the world in all its generality and complexity, as an autonomous, adaptive and apprehending intelligent entity, of any types or scales.

Organic brains/Biological Intelligence, individual and collective, as human intelligence and human society, human-mimicking AI agents, as LLMs and chatbots

Nonorganic brains/Non-biological Intelligence, individual and collective, as machine hyperintelligence and Real AI system, or alien intelligence, technological intelligent beings.

They are just real artificial hyperintelligences, with all the supra technologies, quantum supercomputers, controlled nuclear fusion reactors, quantum gravity engines, etc.

Yes, Aliens May Be Artificial Intelligence, Not Life as We Know It. Human intelligence may be just a brief phase before machines take over. That may answer where the aliens are hiding. This argument comes from the Scientific American Journal.

The Fermi's paradox, “Where is everybody?”, is decided by the existence of intelligent civilizations in the Milky Way as superintelligent machine communities.

The absence of alien intelligence signals is not the result of a “great filter”, of the Drake equation, but our technological underdevelopment and inadequate intelligence for cosmic tasks.

The Drake equation, a mathematical formula for the probability of finding life or advanced civilizations in the universe.

We apply AI, processing two terabytes (TB) every second, for the search for extraterrestrial life, in hunting for alien intelligence. while emerging, general-purpose AI is nothing but an alien intelligence prototype.

Humanity is failing to colonize its moon, the Moon, not mentioning an interplanetary travel due to the biologically limited size and processing power of organic brains unlike fully electronic intelligences needing only energy, solar, nuclear, etc.

The Universal Intelligence Principle: how many alien societies exist

That is, organic human-kind intelligence, with all inherent natural restrictions, is not the peak of intelligence, but just a brief phase, before the AI machines take over, spreading from deep space stations as alien intelligences.

The Drake equation which is used by the SETI institute for the Milky Way galaxy must be extended by the intelligent colonization term:

I = i x N (A) x l

I is the total number of intelligent technological civilizations in the Milky Way galaxy.

i is is the number of planets, per a light year (about 9 trillion km), intellectualized by hyperintelligent AI machines.

l is the average length of time machine civilizations produce advanced technological civilizations (years); the lifespan of intelligence-as-we-know-it is virtually infinite

In the pre-AI estimates for N, it has ranged from 1 (Earth houses the only galactic society that is transmitting) to several million, Drake himself currently suggests that N = 10,000 (the consequence of assuming that new transmitting societies are produced at intervals of one per year and enjoy an average lifetime of 10,000 years).

Within 5-10 years, humanity could start seeding exoplanets with intelligent entities in the form of AI space robots that could 3D replicate themselves using local raw materials in analogy to the way that humans replicate on Earth.

To generalize the phenomenon, we advance the Universal Intelligence Principle, replacing the anthropic principle, naively suggesting that the universe is finely tuned for human existence. It also covers the?FAP, where the universe's structure is expressible by?bits?of?information?making?information processing?as inevitable and eternal.

The universe is finely tuned for existence of intelligence, terrestrial intelligence as intelligent animal life or extraterrestrial intelligence, in any possible types and forms, natural or artificial. Without Intelligence, the Universe will be senseless, meaningless, and pointless.

Conclusion

Apply to our modified formula the size of the observable universe, 93 billion LY in its diameter, and about 2 trillion of galaxies, with 200 billion stars each one, and 10-15 planets around each star. There are approximately 200 billion trillion stars, say, trillion trillion planets, in the universe

Now tell me we are alone in the infinite world. Just imagine how dumb and dull we all are.

There are a multitude of AI worlds in the infinite universe, and the planet Earth is to become its new part before soon.

Elon Musk’s Uncertainty About Aliens Can Be Resolved by the Scientific Method

Why humanity is a cosmic tale of despair and hope

In 1977, NASA’s Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft began their pioneering journey across the Solar System to visit the giant outer planets. Now, the Voyagers are hurtling through unexplored territory on their road trip beyond our Solar System. Along the way, they are measuring the interstellar medium, the mysterious environment between stars that is filled with the debris from long-dead stars. Voyager 1 became the most distant spacecraft from Earth in 1998, and no other spacecraft launched, to date, has a chance of catching it.

Drake Equation

How many alien societies exist, and are detectable??This famous formula gives us an idea. The Drake Equation, which was the agenda for a meeting of experts held in West Virginia in 1961, estimates N, the number of transmitting societies in the Milky Way galaxy. The terms are defined as follows:

N ? ?: The number of civilizations in the Milky Way galaxy whose electromagnetic emissions are detectable.

R* ??: The rate of formation of stars suitable for the development of intelligent life (number per year).

fp ??: The fraction of those stars with planetary systems.

ne ??: The number of planets, per solar system, with an environment suitable for life.

fl ? ?: The fraction of suitable planets on which life actually appears.

fi ? ?: The fraction of life bearing planets on which intelligent life emerges.

fc ? ?: The fraction of civilizations that develop a technology that produces detectable signs of their existence.

L ? ?: The average length of time such civilizations produce such signs (years).

I think we need to chill our minds a bit, if extraterrestrial organic or AI exists it would probably already takeover, transcend us or started communicating. Controlling the AI we are creating is key for the future, maybe des-accelerating it, would help. For example AI deep reasoning could be a problem. Space exploration is key to detect aliens and start observing and interacting (if needed) may be the next future steps.
