Multitasking, Time-management, Teamwork, Leadership. They are achievable!

I would like to share with you some of the techniques for mastering the above skills according to my experience.

First of all, let me warn you - it's not easy or quick. But it's worth it. At the end of the day you will earn time, money, respect and much more.

Multitasking. 10 essential tips.

  1. Set thew right goals. Never try to be over your head, set realistic goal and event it does nor depend on you. In case your boss set unreal goal ask him for the priorities.
  2. Prioritizing your tasks. Always. I use the "Descartes Square" and it helps me much.
  3. Understanding how long tasks will take. Never leave them halfway for a long time. My time frame is 15 minutes or 24 hrs depending on the task. Complete tasks or find out 5 reasons why it is impossible to finish and work on solving these issues.
  4. Writing lists or using online tools like #todoist or #yourganize. My to-do list consists of maximum 15 tasks per day and explanations next to every task, it creates an easy-to-approach to-do list.
  5. Short-term and long-term to-do lists. I suggest to have daily, weekly, monthly and yearly to-do lists :) And even once-in-5-years to-do list. For daily to-do list you have 10-15 tasks, for weekly to-do list 5-10, for monthly and yearly to-do lists 5-7 tasks; and not more than 5 tasks for your once-in-5-years to-do list.
  6. Grouping tasks where it is possible. Always!
  7. Acting in a hurry or in a stable mode depending on the task, time, etc. Be flexible! Some tasks require you to rush, others require more stability.
  8. Drown out the noise and focus on the task! Putting your headphones in is a great way?to avoid distractions. I prefer to work on urgent and very important tasks in the morning 7am-9pm. So why i work from 8am to 5pm.
  9. Breaks! Breaks! Breaks! I also do not use this advice often, but when I make breaks it helps me much. It can be short breaks during the day, like walking during the lunch time or coffee drinking with your colleagues in the kitchen for 10 minutes. And long breaks - t r a v e l anywhere, minimum for 2 weeks. I always take 1 month vacation and travel somewhere very far. But there are also “medium” breaks, such as a visit to parents on the weekend, or a meeting at the dacha with friends, or just sightseeing of the city on your own.
  10. Stay focused! It is easier said than done. However, to stay focused, you can simply turn off your phone during work hours or not check your email for 30 minutes.
