A Multisource Service Integration Approach Prepares the City of Fort Wayne and Allen County for Next Generation Technology

Local government presents unique modernization and IT management challenges. Specialized solutions and skills are needed for systems that maintain and operate multiple departments to deliver utilities, provide public safety, record and issue permits, manage animal services, supervise parks and recreation, and myriad other responsibilities. In the past, city and county IT organizations often outsourced their tower services (help desk, desktop, applications, servers and storage, network, and cybersecurity) to a single managed services provider.

But because technology changes rapidly, this inhibits their ability to access specialty skills that didn’t exist within the provider’s portfolio at the time of the contract, negatively impacting service quality and user experience. The City of Fort Wayne and Allen County (CFW-AC) needed a robust IT managed services partner to support the technology backbone for critical departments that serve over 500,000 constituents.

3. Choose the Right Technology: Once you've identified the problem and are confident about the data, select the appropriate AI tool. Ben pointed out that generative AI models should be tailored to your specific use case to get the best results.

Modernizing Case Management and Billing to Better Serve Children

Colorado’s Office of the Child’s Representative (OCR) oversees attorneys who provide legal representation for children as guardians ad litem (GAL), counsel for children in dependency and neglect proceedings, and child legal representatives (CLR). OCR needed to streamline and modernize their current case management and billing system in order to better serve children and improve their financial stewardship of state funds. To modernize and streamline its reporting, billing, and case management processes for more than 800 staff and attorneys, the Office of the Child’s Representative needed a system as intuitive as it is efficient.

State of Iowa Solves Workforce Dilemma through a Child Care Solution

The COVID-19 pandemic greatly exacerbated childcare shortage problems that continue today in most states. Early childhood care and education (ECE) is critical to child development; lack of available quality care impacts family livelihoods, community growth and stability, and business expansion—thereby affecting state economies. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds created the Child Care Task Force after her Economic Recovery Advisory Board examined strategies to help Iowa’s economy not only bounce back from the pandemic but grow. The advisory board identified affordable quality childcare as a major barrier to the state’s workforce recovery and wanted to improve the ease with which both parents and care providers interface with the government agencies providing assistance.
