Mahindra Logistics and Ascendas-Firstspace announces launch of 1 mn sq. ft. warehouse park in Pune.

Mahindra Logistics Ltd. (MLL) and Ascendas-Firstspace have come together to set up a new one million square feet of multi-client warehouse park in Talegaon, Pune.The multiclient warehouse park will be developed in three phases, with the first phase of 0.5 million sq. ft. to be operational by the end of 2023-24.At the Ascendas-Firstspace Pune Talegaon-II Logistics Park, spread over 40-acres, this is the second project in the micro-market of Ascendas-Firstspace.Part of the Chakan Talegaon Industrial Corridor (CTIC), Talegaon-II is one of the most important manufacturing clusters in India. Traditionally a manufacturing base for large auto, engineering, and electronics companies, the CTIC corridor is currently witnessing significant growth on account of the success of the Make in India program.

Commerce Minister Goyal highlights healthy export growth at ASSOCHAM Annual Session 2023.

While speaking at the ASSOCHAM Annual Session 2023 yesterday, Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, said that India’s exports (merchandise as well as services) have witnessed a healthy growth since 2020 to reach an all time high of USD 750 billion. Indian exports have risen from a low of USD 500 billion in 2020-2021 – and witnessing such growth in extremely challenging geo-political scenario. In 2021-22, the country’s goods and services exports touched an all-time high of USD 422 billion and USD 254 billion respectively, taking the total shipments to USD 676 billion.?

Tamil Nadu to give incentives for logistics projects with Rs 500 cr-plus investments.

In a bid to promote logistics sector in a big way, the Tamil Nadu government will facilitate projects with more than Rs 500 crore with customised incentives. To attract and enable financing for large scale logistics infrastructure development, the government will coordinate with financial institution such as National Investment & Infrastructure Fund (NIIF), Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Fund (TNIF) or any other suitable sources for leveraging funds. According to the latest logistic policy, the government will encourage phase wise preparation of logistics master plan for major cities and metropolitan regions in the state to promote city logistics. It will identify and earmark land parcels, minimum 50 acres, at strategic locations in the state for development of multi-modal logistics parks, warehousing clusters and private freight terminals (PFT) which will be developed through private participation.
