MultiCloud Strategy That Works at 6% ROI year on year

Remember that saying “You should not keep all your eggs in the same basket” well that basically what multicloud aka Polynimbus strategy offers to 75% to North American infrastructure decision makers that describe their cloud approach as hybrid.

Hosted private cloud aka HPC is an essential part of this strategy to serves the cautious, the cost-sensitive, the disaster recovery (DR) focused, and the bare-metal focused with a platform or hypervisor aka OS that helps to regulate the pace of change when advantageous.

Now, why do we even need a Hosted Private Cloud when Public Cloud providers or hyper-scalers like AWS, Google or Microsoft is already existing.

Although I can say it in one word like security or use a word like compliance but I would rather list five major use-case for the increasing demand of HPC with some estimates/percentage of demand in each category.

1) improved hosting (30%);

2) disaster recovery (25%);

3) using external cloud services but in a dedicated cloud service (20%);

4) using HPC as an alternative to internal private cloud (10%); and

5) extending their public cloud usage (10%)

Now the only question remains is which solution should I go for…. Well, it all depends on the use-case. like problem-solving price issues or for HIPAA compliance or high I/O-intensive workloads that have a short runway before becoming irrelevant are ideal for such implementation.

But I may have a step by step guide for you like

KISS — keep it simple, stupid! Aka Define your scope (and budget) Needless to say you get a particular quality for a given price so define top 10 benefits you need(and also comment below)

Create great user experience via Check out the Support you get- Look out for after-sales support or white glove services e.g. If every interaction feels like a sales pitch to you then it’s probably not the right fit vendor for you. Caution- Don’t get into fights that matter not and talk openly about pricing flexibility.

Keep it small and urgent aka Product Roadmap- Needless to say more features comes at a premium price but having too many features can hamper productivity, create a steeper learning curve and long vendor-lockin
