MultiChoice Ghana Holds Awareness Talk, Free Breast Screening For Staff

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, MultiChoice Ghana has taken a proactive step in promoting health and well-being among its staff. On Friday 18th October 20204, we hosted an informative session focused on breast cancer, cervical cancer, and sexual health education, emphasizing the importance of prevention and early detection.

The event featured expert speakers from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) who shared valuable insights into best practices for preventing breast cancer. Staff learned about the significance of regular screenings and the critical role that plays in early detection. The session covered essential lifestyle tips, including maintaining a healthy diet, engaging in regular physical activity, and understanding the importance of self-examinations.

In addition to the educational talks, staff had the opportunity to undergo free breast screenings, eye examinations, and cervical screenings, including VIA (Visual Inspection of the Cervix) and pap smears. These screenings are vital in detecting any potential health issues early on, ensuring that our employees remain informed and proactive about their health. The engagement was received with enthusiasm, highlighting our collective commitment to fostering a culture of awareness and support.

Human Resource Manager of MultiChoice Ghana, Matilda Asare, highlights the importance of empowering staff with knowledge and access to health services. “At MultiChoice Ghana, we are dedicated to prioritizing health and wellness for our employees, and we will continue to advocate for initiatives that promote awareness and prevention of diseases such as breast and cervical cancer,” says Matilda Asare.

“As we continue to support one another in this journey, let us remember that awareness is just the beginning. Together, we can champion health and well-being, making a positive impact not only in our workplace but in the broader community as well,” she added.

Early this month, MultiChoice Ghana joined hundreds of participants for the annual 5K Run (Run For A Cure) to raise awareness, celebrate survivors and honour those who have fought the disease. Theodora Nortey, Growth Manager at MultiChoice Ghana won a silver medal after emerging second in her category.
