Though I am an advocate of PMB but truth be told, I see quite number of square pegs in round holes. Is this sufficient enough to see nothing good in Nigeria for the next four years? Maybe YES, to those who had already zero their minds and of course NO to those who believe that even in desert, good things can spring forth.
Twelve leaders, one from a tribe of Israelites were sent by Moses to spy the land of Canaan. Despite their pre-knowledge that the land flows with milk and honey, ten of the twelves saw impossibility while only two saw possibility. Most of us know the end result.
Nigeria is like Canaan land, endowed with both natural and human resources. Little wonder, despite our peculiarities (high corruption, insecurity, poor infrastructure etc.) other nationalities are coming daily to tap into the land that is specially blessed by God while most Nigerians see nothing good in it.
The picture that we have of our country will always determine how we respond to it and by extension our conception about those in the position of authority. It is time for us to wake up and make something out of nothing.
Being on the street hustling, my eyes are widely opened and I know of the truth that we are all working on GOLD but blindfolded to recognize opportunities. I have met some young guys who started with almost nothing but now genuinely well made, yet in this Nigeria.
The best thing in life to do is not to regret and/or complain all days most especially when you cannot change what has happened, but to interpret it positively, maximize same and use it to solving people’s problem thus watch the complainants’ hard earned money finding their ways to you not because of who you are but because of VALUE they see in you. Even if the entire country reserve is divided equally among Nigerians, the complainants will start complaining few years down the line.
Remember excuses are the brake pedals in life, and you can’t get going if the brakes are ON.
And finally, for sure, you can only become what you see. Start seeing good in Nigeria and those in the position of authority.
