A much-needed self-reflection

I always believe that we have a great purpose in our lives. We are specifically made for a meaningful reason. We are made to be the hands and feet of our creator and it's just a matter of time before we realise it. It took me a good lengthy reflection before I came to realise the blessings that have come upon me which I have ignored to be thankful for.

Today, the 10th of August happens to be a day celebrated to ‘Update your bio’! This is indeed a much-needed day, as we are all busy doing all sorts of things that we have forgotten to pause and reflect on our journey. I took the liberty to update my profile today, and boy, I have done all sorts of things I had not noticed.

"We do not learn from experience. We learn from reflecting on experience."?- John Dewey

How can this not be true? Every individual goes through a journey that brings along plenty of experiences. After being forced into lockdowns, having to work from home, then to hybrid, we have experienced much uncertainties. Now is the best time to understand and realize that we ALL have gone through a journey that we cannot change now, for the path had been travelled and time had gone by, however, we can ALL embrace those beautiful memories and be mindful of any untapped longings.

This can and will happen if we take time to reflect and learn from those experiences, change what we need to, and share what we think can make a difference in someone’s life. By doing this we will grow to become more confident, in seeing the things that we once would have never thought that we were capable of. No one understands us better than we do. That is why a good self-reflection is needed.

Life will unfold beautifully the moment we take some time to reflect on it. We can’t always go on autopilot. In order not to lose the beauty around us, we must once in a while go on manual mode to stop and drive at our pace. Only then we will notice that we’ve missed out on the park located next to our car park and the colours of flowers which bloom in that little space. This little space could resemble our own lives and the wonderful things which we have overlooked.

?"Reflection is one of the most underused yet powerful tools for success."?- Richard Carlson

To begin with, you can do a self-reflection test to understand yourself better. There are plenty available online but here's a link to some free tests available on the Linkedin pulse.

The results of the self-reflection test may or may not be new to you. You may have thought about it, but probably just had not spent time pondering over it. You can then spend some time looking through and updating or even changing the way your CV or resume is written. This exercise can indeed help you look at your life using a new lens.

I would love to offer my time to those who are keen to get their records updated. There are a

variety of designs and ways to get this resume done. You can choose to use simple Word documents or the fancy CANVA to design a professional resume.

If you need help, just get in touch and I can show you how.

As I trust that all great minds have a purpose, establishing this clear purpose of what we do will enable us to experience meaningful outcomes.
