"?MedTechVets taught me the power of networking and the importance of selling yourself. Coming from the military, it is difficult to shift your mindset from we to me, but during the interview process the interviewers want to know the impact you alone have had on other teams and what impacts you will have on their team. All of this circles back to the preparation and confidence the Academy gave me for the interview process." -?Trent Taylor, Fall 2022 Academy?

This month we're proud to feature fellow? Trent M. Taylor .

Trent was a part of our Fall 2022 cohort, where he wanted to?find a career path that would align with his passion of helping others, companies that aligned with his values and would understand his worth, and to find a great match with a company 2 months before exiting the military.

He is now a?Commercial Leadership Associate at Abiomed .

3 Ways MTV Academy helped Trent prepare for his transition:

?? Taught critical aspects of interviews and resumes

?? Extensive practice preparation made me much more confident going into my first interviews

??? Paired me with an amazing mentor who had recently gotten hired on by Abiomed from

Trent's Advice for Veterans:

"Plan out in advance what you want your transition to look like and be proactive in your preparation for that plan. Network early and often. Don’t be afraid to ask for assistance, the MedTechVets staff alone is very connected and can put you in contact with somebody who can help. You will be surprised how many people would love to take time out of their day to help a transitioning veteran. Be grateful for those who do and learn as much as they are willing to offer.?"?
