MTS @50 With Owen Haskell Inc.

Owen Haskell Inc. has been an MTS customer since our beginning.? We are fortunate to have many long-term relationships customers.?? Owen Haskell has been in business since 1964 and they have survey records that date back more than 100 years.? The technology they are using on current projects, however, is the latest Leica Geosystems has to offer.?

As part of our 50th Anniversary we sat down with Randy Loubier, Principal at Owen Haskell to ask him a few questions about his company and how he sees the larger picture in the surveying market in 2024. ?

How long have you been a Maine Technical Source customer?

“Owen Haskell, Inc. has been a customer for 50 years, I believe.”

Why have you been a long-term customer? ?

?“MTS is always there when we need them, and they are just a stones throw away. “

How would you describe your relationship with MTS??

?“We have a great relationship with MTS from sales to service.”

What are your top challenges in today’s surveying market?

?“Our top challenges in today’s survey market are finding enough employees to service our client needs. MTS has been able to keep our company thriving with the latest robotic technology.” ??

When adopting new technology what are your top 3 considerations?

?“Cost, training opportunities, service & support.”

How did you get into surveying and what keeps you engaged in the profession?

?“When I was accepted into the engineering program in 1997 at the University of Maine Orono I received a pamphlet from each engineering program at the University. Upon review I decided to go into the Survey program and have not looked back.”
