MThree Consulting at Viva Tech 2018
It was an honour for me to represent Mthree Consulting at this very mediatic event where companies fight to see and be seen, in a desire to measure how innovative they are compared to their competitors, trying attract a younger clientele and talents among the millennials.
Undoubtedly, we will all remember the impressive speakers that attended this year at VivaTech, from Mark Zuckerberg to Emmanuel Macron, not to forget Eric Schmidt. The founder of Facebook spoke Thursday about GDPR, coming into effect the day after; our French President insisted on the importance for the digital giants to build a new framework for new technologies helping everyone; with the member of Alphabet Inc mentioning the machine learning revolution.
The exhibiting firms present pleased us with high-end toys, from robots purifying your air to the incredible Airbus PopUp flying car and the now well-known virtual reality glasses.
But what endeavored and intrigued the most, was not in the conference rooms or in the gadgets, rather in the center space of the conference.
Main international corporate firms – BNP, RATP, Google – have invited each year some of the starts-up they funded to exhibit and promote themselves.
At the top of each stand was indicated the name of the start-up, the country and the area.
It is remarkable to see the importance that was given to represent the globality of this search for innovation. All continents were represented, but this year at VivaTech, Africa was particularly put in the spotlight. Indeed, aware of the huge tech potential of this region, Mthree has been assisting clients in South Africa since 2012 combining our vendor and open source skills.
I also could not help but notice the number of entrepreneurs focusing on HR /Training and Education.
My favorite: Beedeez (France), 2Spark (France)
Of course, educating properly not only the experienced ones to the new technologies but also tomorrow future talents is essential, and this is exactly why Mthree is investing so much in our Alumni programs and in our global training academy.
I also paid particular attention to the Finance and Artificial Intelligence start-ups, with without any surprise innovative ideas around cryptocurrencies and easy payments.
My favourites: Bizpay (UK), IOV (France), Wizall Money (Senegal), bNesis (Poland), PayJoy (US)
Last but not least, I was positively surprised to see how France is on the right path to meet its challenge of Tech for Good. After years of digital doldrums, IT innovations have never been so contemporary.
