Mt. Freelance made a PODCAST. Crazy, right? Who does that?!?

When Aaron James approached me about creating Mt. Freelance, the course and community for freelancers, I was like sure. That sounds like fun.
Having absolutely no idea it was going to be an incredible amount of work.
That said, I’m grateful. Mt. Freelance has been a blast, Aaron and I have met so many great new people, it’s allowed us to share what we know, and thanks to our community our members are able to help each other out.
You’d think I’d learn from that initial experience, but no.
When Eric Stolberg approached Aaron and I about creating a Mt. Freelance podcast, we were like sure. That sounds like fun.
Again having absolutely no idea it was going to be an incredible amount of work. But once again I am so grateful. The Mt. Freelance podcast is out in the wild with our first few episodes plus the teaser available here on our site, over at Apple and wherever else you find podcasts. And we’ve got new episodes coming every Thursday starting today for the next two months.
We know there are a zillion podcasts out there. So much so making that one is almost a punchline. That said I think ours is a little different. There are lots of podcasts about advertising and filmmaking and the creative process.
But the Mt. Freelance Podcast is for and about freelancers. Season One features 12 of our favorite freelancers ranging from filmmakers to writers to designers to photographers and yes even a stand-up comedian because they’re freelance too. Look at this guest list!
We could have just had them come on and ask them questions and post the interview. But if you know Digital One you know they don’t roll like that.
We have 12 artisanal, hand-crafted, bespoke episodes with custom theme music created by Tristan that’s so good and catchy I will apologize now because it’s going to get stuck in your head. And Eric and team have done a great job cutting down each interview, coaching Aaron and I through radio reads for our Season One sponsors like Stumptown Coffee. And then pushing us to answer a listener question at the end of each episode, even when we were like, ah, we could skip it.
We would love it you gave it a listen and super love it if you’re share it around or give us a nice review on Apple. And if you’re thinking about making a podcast, we’d naturally love to share what we’ve learned. That’s what Mt. Freelance is all about!
Let the lateral moves commence!
3 年I loved the David Cress episode, will keep listening
