The MSI Ethiopia Reproductive Choices held the 2024 Strategic Review Meeting from January 23–25, 2024, with the theme of year of resilience and triple impact. ?
For the organization the year 2023 has regarded as the year of resilience. The various internal as well as external factors that the organization has faced enabled it to develop the potential to be resilient and make it sustainable in every aspect.?At the opening of the strategic meeting Dr. Abebe Shibru country director of MSIE provided insight and reflection on how the year 2023 ended and the strategic pathways the organization should follow in 2024 to make the triple impact notion successful in every area of engagement. ?
Strong leadership that adapted to changing conditions and guided the organization through uncertainties. A resilient workforce that demonstrated flexibility, dedication, and the ability to navigate challenges. The organization's ability to innovate and implement creative solutions to address internal issues and external challenges. Sound financial practices and management that ensured stability during uncertain economic times. Developing resilient supply chain strategies to mitigate risks and ensure continuity in the face of disruptions were raised as factors that helped the organization to stay strong the country director had noted. ?
He stressed that in 2023 MSIE has shown progress in every field. As to him MSIE has successfully overcomes the various challenges it has faced. Every department has shown dedication and make the possibilities even larger. This helped the organization to reach many Ethiopian women and girls to their health needs and contributed much for the organization to achieve its goals.?
Enhancing growth pillars, sustainability and, client safety and quality are noted and will be the strategic Triple Impacts of the MSIE for the year 2024 as forwarded by Dr. Abebe. At the strategic meeting Vice President of MSI Megan Elliott, virtually delivered her remark and expressed her appreciation for the MSIE country program. The vice president provided a reflection about the year 2023 MSIE’s performance and applauded the sustainability and resilience the organization has shown in the face various challenges. ?

She remarked that the income collected from the MSIE’s Commercial services is one third of the income collected from the whole Africa. In addition, the vice president expressed her gratitude for the Ethiopian country program and hailed the that the reach of services which is three-fold from next African country is unmatched nowhere. She stressed that the results happened are the result of dedication and hard work, therefore noted that MSIE must continue to keep its momentum and she affirmed the support from the global office would continue like never before. ?
Abebe Shibru Country Director of the MSIE gave directions and focus areas of the organization for the year 2024. ?At the third and final day of the strategic meeting Dr.?Banchiamlak?Dessalegn MSIE’s Africa Director was present and provided her reflection about the Ethiopian country program. She highlighted that the Ethiopian country program is the most developed, resilient, and ensured higher sustainability through the years. She said it is one of the leading country programs in Africa. ?
The progress and development of MSIE is encouraging and can be an exemplary for the rest of the country programs run by MSI. The strategic meeting was concluded by recognizing high performing departments, sectors, and centers.
