Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) took the delivery of its 399.99 m long newest container ship – the MSC Irina – from Yangzijiang Shipbuilding recently. The 24,346 TEU ship dethrones the 24,188 TEU ‘OOCL Spain’, which hit the waters last month. The MSC Irina is the first of six giant ships from Yangzijiang and features a forward deckhouse plus a 6/14/4 bay set-up.

Investcorp bets big on Indian warehousing sector,?doubles down its investment.

Betting on the growing logistics demand in India on the back of its manufacturing ambitions and e-commerce boom, Investcorp is doubling down on warehouse investments in India. Investcorps’ has a real estate portfolio of $350 million in India, of which 16% accounts for warehousing. Now, the Bahrain based investment company is planning to boost that share in the coming year, says Ritesh Vohra, the firm’s real estate head in the nation.

Coming soon: New Foreign Trade Policy 2023.

An official from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has said that the new Foreign Trade Policy 2023 will be released tentatively by the end of March 2023. The current Policy, framed for the period 2015-2020 was first extended due to the COVID pandemic, and then due to geopolitical and economic uncertainties until March 2023. The new FTP will focus on export promotion, for both merchandise and services, towards achieving the export target of USD 2 trillion by 2030.
