MSCA 2023 Doctoral Networks call – changes and novelties relative to the 2022 call

For Standard DNs:

  • The maximum total number of person months is updated to 540.
  • The doctoral candidates are recruited for minimum 3 and maximum 36 months. Therefore, Standard DNs can include up to 15 doctoral candidates.
  • The maximum project duration remains the same 48 months.

For Joint DNs:

  • The maximum project duration is updated to 60 months.
  • The doctoral candidates are recruited for minimum 3 and maximum 48 months. It is allowed to have different fellowship durations within a single project (e.g. 2 DCs recruited for 48 months and 10 DCs recruited for 36 months).

Overview of all Doctoral Networks:

  • Deletion of reference to Letters of Commitment for Associated partners as those are not mandatory anymore. Note: Pre-agreement letters for DN-JDs still have to be included!
  • Role of non-academic sector in the training programme: No longer required under section 1.3. However, the involvement of the non-academic sector should be well-explained throughout the document and highlighted in the impact section 2.1a.
  • Supervisory board: Now moved to section 5 in Part B2. Also includes a new table to indicate the supervision arrangements for each DC.
