On Wednesday, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) announced four people were arrested for their ties to a violent extremist group in the following states; Washington, Texas, Arizona, and Florida, According to the FBI, Johnny Roman Garza, of Queen Creek, AZ; Cameron Brandon Shea, of Redmond, WA; Kaleb Cole, of Montgomery, TX; and Taylor Ashley Parker-Dipeppe, of Spring Hill, FL were arrested and charged with “conspiracy to threaten and intimidate journalist and activists.”
Authorities alleged the defendants used an encrypted online chat group to target journalists and others who “threatened their ideology.” The group allegedly created posters depicting Nazi symbols and weapons with threatening language, which was sent to the Atomwaffen violent extremist group. The group then sent the posters to journalists and activists whom the group was targeting. The group was targeting journalists who were Jewish and people of color.
