Hello, Linkedin world!
I hope you're doing good and you are satisfied with your business results! It's time to show you something little different on my blog. There is no person in the world who doesn't like to travel. Travel is the best way to get to know new cultures, maybe new friends, you never know. From now on my blog, you will have the opportunity to read new posts about my second greatest love (after fashion): TRAVEL! These posts will have a special name: Mr.M on the road...
Ciao Roma!
My first post will be dedicated to this beautiful city! It's not said without the reason that all roads lead to Rome... It's a city that you love, and you can't even explain yourself why... Like love, right? You can come to Rome from Belgrade in several ways: with your own vehicle (to which I would never dare), a bus and an airplane. I must admit that I regret the days when from Belgrade we used Wizz Air to visit Rome for much less money, but well, but you can always find some good special offers of some airlines such as Air Serbia and Alitalia.
Before I start with this post I just want to say thank you to Alitalia for this wonderful experience!
When it comes to me, in most cases I choose morning flights and then I can't sleep because of excitement. When I get up that morning, I feel like a 5-year-old child of 5, who is going to open Christmas present! I don't know if it's interesting to write about driving by the bus or talk about taxi drivers who play some weird music at 4 AM in the morning, with all respect, but... it's better for me if my sister drives me to the airport!
The airport... what to say, it's the place where many meet and separate, it's a place which remembers many happy hugs at the arrival terminal, and those that are a little sad at the departure terminal. Somehow, it's all life, but it's sad when I see grandfathers and grandmothers hug their grandchildren, and then they stay alone on the terminal and quietly walk away with the tears in their eyes, they leave the airport...
I have to admit that I got a little more emotional... My greatest joy is the sound of that stamp that marks the beginning of my new adventure! Running, waiting for plane food, landing, so that's the way how I describe my flight! ??
When I go to Italy, I always feel special happiness, because everyone who knows me well knows how much I really love Italy.
Grande Italia! Gelato! Yes, yes that's it! For me, that is enough! I'm ready for Rome!
I love when I come to Rome, the sun shines, and then taxi drivers asking you, "Do you need a taxi?" Sounds like they will sing in San Remo well, maybe I still exaggerated ... (and maybe I did not) ??
When I finally get to the city, I have to go to see the Spanish Steps! Well, I also have to admit that I also like them because I know when I turn around, I will see a real fashion heaven, all that glow and luxury of exclusive boutiques and cheerful sales assistants who hope to get their "part of the cake". I always have a small ritual... Before I go to see the shop windows of luxury fashion brands, I have to buy a pizza and then I am so happy all day after I eat, I can go anywhere you want.
My standard route on the first day in Rome is reduced to the famous "circle of old center" - shopping zone (I'm a fashion blogger, please forgive me!). The other day, of course, after I slept as a baby and realized that my clothes were not perfect and I'm trying to find some trendy outfit I can use without ironing :D. Before I start my new adventure in Rome, I must eat something! ?? If the second day is Friday or Saturday, then I always think whether to go to the outlet or to the Vatican city. The discounts have always been a decisive factor, if I came during the sales season, I'm running to the outlet and I'm traditionally going with the Chinese... They love shopping maybe a little more than me!
Version I
If I stay in town (better read no discounts!) I decide to "explore" the city. Believe me, how many times you visit Rome, never, but you can never get to know Rome well!
I use the other day to visit the Vatican, I pray there for that the next day I will be successful in some good blogger action, I say, however, I am in the Vatican, so I have a better chance of fulfilling my wish. I have to admit that I'm tired and I'm more spending time in search for benches... When I find some free seat I don't leave it until I charge my "batteries" and think what I'm going to do with myself...
After that, I need a lot of time to get to the Trevi Fountain. This fountain is something incredible and I can stay there for hours and admire this exceptional architecture. Every time, but literally every time I think about whether those people in the building with which the fountain share the wall. Once I went to the research that I saw a nice little male fashion boutique, where I bought a beautiful cashmere coat on some great discount because only my size left. My mother forbid me to explore that area anymore! ??
Also at Trevi Fountain, I have a ritual to eat ice cream and envy those elderly ladies who live across the fountain and drink a cafe on the terrace and they can watch this every day. Once they were even so fine that they raised their cups in a sign of greetings, and I raised my corn of ice cream... They laughed at me, I laughed at myself, but what I care for, I enjoy my ice cream!
Since I ended up enjoying the beauties of the fountain, I can slowly return to the "old part of the town - shopping heaven" and I visit Pantheon and I admire the open roof and think about the meaning of life. When I'm done with cultural upbringing, I can go back to the shopping party! It's shopping time! And then I try to visit the shops that I did not succeed on the first day. My golden rule is that I do not buy anything before I visit the outlet (unless it's not cheap or I liked it so much that I could not get away from that stuff ... :D)
II Version
The second day is traditionally spent in the outlet. First, you have to be a master to find the bus that goes straight to the outlet. Of course, to make it easier for all of you to survive, just follow well-trained Chinese when you reach the Termini station and you are on the right track! The outlet is not far from Rome approx 30 min from Rome, sometimes a little longer, everything depends on the driver and the traffic in the city... One time when I went to the outlet I had a "Schumacher" as driver, so I arrived in about 25 minutes. It was a crazy ride!
The outlet is called Castel Romano, really a fashion paradise. There are shops, literally for everyone's taste and for everyone's pocket. When sales are ON, here you can really buy so many cheap things that you just would not believe it ... For example, branded shoes whose starting retail price was 750 euros you can buy on sale for 100-150 euros, if you the lucky one and you find your size. After a good shopping therapy, I am ready to return to Rome (with a smile), I said this because I noticed some Chinese crying while watching things in their shopping bags, so I did not understand best whether it was because of the money they left in Prada or because of Bad choice of things... When I learn Chinese, I promise to answer you! I slowly go to the hotel, I once sat on a sidewalk since I was tired, because nowhere was there a bench ... The only Russian understood me because they did the same thing...
Day 3 - Buy or Do not Buy ?!
When I'm on the road, the adrenaline looks like its own, so I don't feel tired at all in the morning, I'm fine repeating my ritual of the famous Italian breakfast. Mostly they are croissants filled with cream something like Nutella, jam or empty with some juice and that's it! No pizza for breakfast! ??
Once when I was in a better hotel, there were international cuisines, and even one girl played the harp, yes, harp! Many of my friends didn't believe me, but I was honestly scared to take the photo until some tourist just hugged the harp and made some selfies with a girl! All right, well, I know I was stunned...
What was I talking about? Yes, day 3 ...
On the third day, I usually visit the churches and walk a little in the center, but I know that I'm going back to the shopping part of town just to buy if I wanted something else and a simple magnet for the fridge! Without magnet, I never return home!
I sincerely hope that you liked my post and I will try to write a new one in which you will have the opportunity to meet a new city! Till then, CIAO!
P.S. With great excitement I expect your comments!
Best,
Mr.M
