Users can compete in multiple skill based mobile gaming tournaments on MPL and wins cash prizes . It was launched in September 2018 and gained 10 Million users within initial 3 months , this happened due to low cost data plans and mobile devices. India currently ranks fifth among the world’s top mobile gaming markets.
" MPL claims that it has more than 40 million users, making up 14 percent of the total mobile gaming market in India, according to the 2019 report ”
The startup launched on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud because many of its DevOps engineers had experience on that platform, which accelerated time-to-market. . The startup began with Amazon Aurora as its primary database, using Amazon Rational Database Services (Amazon RDS) . As the data increased with users ,MPL switched to Amazon DynamoDB NoSQL database service as it offered low-latency data access and easy horizontal scaling for gaming use case.
Even after 2 years MPL has a team of 12 engineers who manages DevOps, and 24/7 monitoring, they said-"We don’t need a big team to run all our applications on AWS". The DevOps engineers use AWS CodeDeploy and AWS Lambda microservices architecture to develop, automate and deploy separate microservices.
Debugging is the toughest part and AWS helped them a lot. MPL also took AWS support and GaurdDuty services to get maintenance of events, guidance and assistance + security services.
"AWS has been by our side throughout our entire growth journey, from debugging to stabilizing and optimizing to now expanding our product"

A large portion of MPL’s new customer base comes from referrals, so the business focuses heavily on customer satisfaction. For instance, because sub-millisecond latency is critical in gaming to ensure players don’t experience a lag between moves, MPL has been able to maintain an API response time of 30 milliseconds or less since its launch.
MPL expanded its gaming platform in Indonesia in July 2019 as it's leading mobile gaming community and is awaiting the launch of AWS data centers in the country by 2022.
