MPH NEWSLETTER VOL. 16

WE’RE HERE TO HELP WITH YOUR COMMUNITY HEALTH NEEDS ASSESSMENT & IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY / IMPROVEMENT PLAN!

Tell me more!

Hi there,

When working with our clients at Moxley Public Health to identify priority health needs in their communities, we see that mental health is often at the top of the list. Mental health is so important to our practice as professionals and in our client communities, so we are focusing this edition of the newsletter on what we’ve been reading this month about mental health.

May is Mental Health Month and this year’s theme is ‘where to start? Mental health in a changing world’. I’m sure this resonates with many of you - it can be overwhelming to know where to start or even what your end goal is regarding mental well-being (especially with ever-changing current events). We hope this edition gives you some food for thought and tools for mental well-being, both at a community and individual level.

As always, our focus this month is to collect and transform data into actionable and usable results. Reach out to us anytime to learn more about Community Health Needs Assessments and CHIPs/Implementation Strategies ! Set up a FREE discovery call with us here .

Stay healthy,

Your Moxley Public Health Team

Public Health Need Spotlight

Beyond being a “public health need”, many consider mental health in the U.S. as “in crisis”.

Mental health is complex and is affected by a variety of biological and social determinants - making the need very much interconnected with others and complicated to address.

Ensuring holistic assessment of mental health needs within communities is key to finding strategies and resources for improvement.

The American Psychological Association released a recent article about innovative ways they are looking to meet our country’s profound mental health needs, including telemedicine and peer support programming initiatives.
