Moving out of LinkedIn!

After I started my newsletter on LinkedIn I received overwhelming feedback and recognized the need for some solid tech information in the web3 field. web3 has a lot of people interested, yet only a few are technical enough to understand it well. My goal with Decentech is to change that.

What does Decentech do?

Decentech is the continuation of my LinkedIn newsletter, just not on LinkedIn. Why no longer LinkedIn? Because I want to expose the contents beyond LinkedIn. I want people who just Google stuff to find the content as well. LinkedIn is less ideal about this. I also want the content to be less about me as a person and more about a non-personal entity, which is why I call it Decentech (Decentral Tech, or Decen(t) Tech).?

What is the future for Decentech?

That really remains to be seen, my goal is however to establish a way to get some revenue from the content so that this will be a bit more than just me in my free, personal time. I'd like to onboard other writers and be able to compensate them. Ultimately there could be classes, courses, and workshops. Right upfront: Nothing is really for free (in life that is), but the idea is to make it as affordable as possible and to if at all possible not charge people (through sponsorships e.g.).

How is Decentech financed?

For now, it is mostly just financed by me. On this page, you have the option to subscribe for a small amount either monthly or annually that will give you certain benefits. This will certainly not make me rich but it is my hope to use the funds to expand this to be more than just a one-person show.

Isn't such a page totally web2?

Oh yes, it is. So is LinkedIn (which is what it was before). And web2 won't disappear any time soon either. So yes, this is a web2 page about web3. And the idea is to turn this fully into web3 down the road, but we (as a society) are not quite ready for that yet - so let's use a web2 page to prepare web3.?
