In the past two decades, there is a remarkable difference in the way life has evolved. I am a mid-80’s kid and proud to be one of them. There is huge difference between the present generation kids and our generation; it was not the same between my generation and my parent’s generation. Today friends are made for adding them in Face book, we hardly know them or hang out with them, and we just add them to increase our friend count. In my childhood, friends are made to play with them to have fun together, to share the joy, happiness. You hardly find kids playing games like hide and seek, running race as they seem to be glues to their tablets playing virtual games.
We used to have heartbreaks when friends break our toys or tear books. These days kids have heartbreaks because they broke with their so called “boyfriend/girlfriend”. Having a toy-mobile phone with you was the great asset a kid can have. But present days kids have their real cell phones I mean iPhone at the age of ten. There is drastic change in the way we are living. World is becoming closer but the people are becoming farer.
We are talking about the world becoming global village, becoming closer day by day. But what’s happening to human relations? You stay in the same locality for years together but don’t know who your neighbor’s are. Festival or a function in a home means it is a function in the whole colony. All our neighbors used to contribute to become a successful event. Everyone is getting busy in adapting western culture leaving behind our own ethics which are admired by the western people. In this digitalized word it is becoming difficult to find a true friend and I feel human touch is lost.
With all these changes, where are we heading to? Its wake up call for everyone, get up throw your gadgets especially mobile phones aside get out of your home to interact with people, make friends. Go for a long walk with your loved ones. It is amaze to go for a long walk with you grandparents/parents Experience. The first spell of rain drops on your hands, watch the changing colors of sky during sunrise and sunset and enjoy the essence of mud on your hands while playing in sandpits. Go with your mom to buy vegetables and see the hardships of a farmer. Leave these sophisticated lawns and go to your hometown and play/work with farmers to know the real life pains and gains. Help your dad in cleaning your car instead of giving it to servicing. Plant trees in your home and observe how a samplings change into a beautiful plants.
