Moving Forward in Trying Times

By now most of us have been affected by the dreaded Covid-19 virus that has been spreading like wildfire across the globe. It’s a very confusing and frustrating time for everyone as we don’t know how this will play out in the long run. Our economy is going to take a hit due to the shift in buying habits and closures of many businesses as we quarantine ourselves in our homes and try to lay low until this blows over.
As a business owner, it’s essential to try and get ahead of this and start doing what you can now, so that you have the least impact in the long run. While not all businesses can be run online, there are still some great things you can do in the meantime to help your business grow once we start to get back to a state of “normal”.
Below are a few steps you can take within your business to keep moving forward:
1. Maintain an online presence. Now is the time to reach out to your audience and customers through online interaction. If you already do social media, blogging, have a website, and run a monthly newsletter that’s great and now is your time to shine. Get out there and share important tips, remind people about the uniqueness of your business, focus on online sales, etc. If you aren’t already doing any of this, now is the time to start. Having continuous contact with your customers is essential to making sure they remember who you are and what your business represents when this is all over.
2. Crunch the numbers. Look into how this will affect your business and figure out the exact numbers. It’s important to know where your business stands and what it will take to get you back on your feet and keeping your business growing. Keeping in mind what you need to do to stay open or continue appropriate growth for the remainder of 2020 is essential in helping you to manage your goals and expectations.
3. Get creative with your business. Jumping into the online space is an obvious way to help your business in these trying times, but that’s not always as easy as jumping on social media or offering to sell your product or service online. This new challenge may require you to get extra creative in your business and marketing strategy.
We all want to see businesses thriving once this quarantine is over and we want to see the success in our communities. With that it’s essential to get online, know where you stand financially, and start thinking creatively. I am currently offering free phone consultations with small business owners to discuss business and marketing strategy opportunities.
We’re in this together and I look forward to assisting any small business owners who are worried about what steps to take in their business. Feel free to send me an email with any questions or to set up your free call today.
