MOVING FORWARD
If things are going well with your company, do you carry on the same course? Or, are you often tempted to ‘shake things up’? We’re kind of making a habit of this, but let’s revisit another famous quote.?
If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it.
This is by no means a 'life coach’ type of discussion. However, it’s essential to look at this from all angles before coming to any conclusion. To start things off, let’s examine the idea of sticking to your guns and doing the same thing for the foreseeable future. As a creative agency, we realize the progress we make learning more and more about the trade stems from the longer we work on similar projects. Our team has gained numerous skills and pools of knowledge through their work. Moreover, they’ve developed a sense of ownership over their tasks and responsibilities.?
On the other hand, we’re creatives, first and foremost. We thrive on creating new things and changing the world around us. So, in order for us to keep going, we need our fuel: creating something new. The true challenge lies within maintaining the integrity of our core trade, while charting courses towards new pastors.?
Now, would that approach apply to every business or even every creative agency? Probably not. However, should every business always reserve a fraction of its brain power dedicated towards future ventures? That’s perhaps a little more debatable. One thing for sure, if it ain’t broken, make sure it stays that way before moving forward and trying out new directions.?
