Moving forward after PISA 2022: online learning as a solution to educational challenges

Recognizing the imperative need for investment in education is crucial to empowering future generations. PISA results shed light on areas which always seem to demand urgent attention, revealing gaps in educational systems worldwide. Investing in educational reforms facilitates equitable access to quality education, bridging socio-economic disparities and bolstering essential skills.

"In the scenario where school buildings might need to close again, many students in OECD countries feel confident about using digital technology for distance learning. However, fewer students feel confident in taking responsibility for their own learning. Approximately 69% of students in Romania feel confident or very confident in using a video communication app/program, and 65% feel confident or very confident in motivating themselves to work for school (OECD averages were 77% and 58%, respectively)." reveals edu.ro.

It may have served as a catalyst for education to awaken. Let's point out some important key factors from PISA's results and try to answer this question. Please leave your thoughts in the comments section.

  2. Wellbeing is one of the topics researched in the PISA test, and it turns out that it is a must for schools to focus on wellbeing in order to educate healthy and happy students who can thrive no matter what in the world.?
  3. Many countries, including Cambodia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Indonesia, Morocco, Paraguay and Romania, have rapidly expanded access to education over the past decade – making significant progress towards universal secondary education.
  4. Parents, local communities, governments and other stakeholders should be involved in educational decision-making.
  5. The infrastructure and access to digital education were foggy subjects. After the pandemic, the need to ensure equitable access to education by addressing infrastructure gaps and providing reliable internet access became a must.
