Moving Fast in Sales Builds a Business

Months after we won a pretty substantial project, from now a great friend and customer, I bravely asked him what it was our team did that made him choose ScreenBroidery. He looked at me with a smile and said he hopped on Google and searched for local promotional product companies, narrowing it down to four.

One company responded within two hours with a detailed price quote. The second company called him six hours later, essentially saying they would love to help. A third company got back to him in about 48 hours with a detailed quote that was much less expensive than the first company’s price. The fourth company did not respond at all.

“Which company was ScreenBroidery?” I asked. “You were the first company that responded in a few hours,” he said. “Why us?” I asked my customer. “The proposal you sent I knew you could do the job, but primarily because of the speed and detail with which you responded.” “From those two factors convinced me ScreenBroidery would be the company who would be most responsive, proficient, and on time.” He went on to say, “I didn’t mind paying more for that kind of service… and in fact I expected to pay more.”

In today’s marketplace where customers expect items and services faster than ever, sales wins are awarded to the most agile and responsive companies – the firms that responds quickly with solutions tailored specifically to a customer’s unique situations. “We’re in the middle of a real-time revolution,” said my customer. “The decisive advantages are speed, flexibility, and capability and you guys proved to provide all three.”

Being fast and highly responsive is pivotal. At ScreenBroidery we stay competitive through the ability to manufacture (and source) creative and detailed product needs, but also create them in a way that is efficient and as fast as possible. Quality matters so we ensure we have the balance between service and quality. Sometimes it means responding to questions and inquiries quickly… but many times it means being proactive to stay ahead of questions and ideas – all of which builds a business.

This is SO true! It always blows my mind to hear about companies on either side of the sales cycle who don't respond in a timely fashion or at all for that matter! Its simply rude.
