The moving dot

Often during my morning meditation sessions, I try to experiment with different forms of meditation.
Sometimes, I just focus on incoming and outgoing breath and feel being present in the moment.
While sometimes, I chant Om at a 432 Hz frequency using an app.
Sometimes, I focus on the sounds around me, concentrating on one sound at a time.
And sometimes, I just focus on the patterns under my eyelids that emerge when light falls on my closed eyes.
It was one of those days when I was trying to concentrate hard on a little spot under my eyelid and try to hold it still. Unfortunately, it kept on moving further and I had to try harder to bring it back to my focus.
After many failed attempts, I thought to give up and try to concentrate on something else. But then, something clicked and I tried to give it another go.
This time, I didn’t chase the dot. Rather, I just sat there with the satisfaction that the dot is already there and I don’t have to chase it.
I felt its natural presence and the need to control it went away. And the moment I decided to stop running, the dot appeared - still, present, calm.
I learned something very deep in that moment.
We often try to chase our dreams. We run after wealth, relationships, opportunities, and happiness.
But what we don’t realize is, that every time we chase something, we are projecting the lack of it into the universe.
If we seek happiness, we are sending out the energy that we are unhappy. And every time we emanate lack, we receive lack from the universe.
Just like every time I tried to chase the dot, it kept on drifting further away.
However, flipping this around is easy too!
If you believe that the happiness you seek is already there around you, you start receiving more of it.
When you vibrate higher, you release positive energy. And you attract positive energy from the universe in return.
Just like when you believe that dot is already there, it stops moving;
When you believe that abundance is already there in your life, you start attracting it.
That is how one 30-minute meditation became a lifetime of mantra for me.
