Moving Data Faster than the Speed of Thought

The speed at which business must move today requires new ways of thinking, and a brand-new way of reacting to the ever shifting market place. Changes in how a business is modeled are now required to either keep pace with market leaders, or even better, set the pace for which all others must follow. Many of the traditional business models no longer apply, because they simply don't move quickly enough to react to an ever-evolving market place. In today’s world of big and small business, speed is everything. Cash is not king, speed is. This shift is thinking global and acting local and to do both you simply need to be fast at everything.

The amount of information and the speed at which it moves is staggering. How that information is organized and translated, now increases the ability for organizations to see more and do more than ever before. The speed of organized information flow allows businesses to scale to new heights, and do it at incredible speed in ways that the world as never seen before. Never have billion dollar companies grown and scale at the speed that they do today. With the speed enhancer of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, businesses now have the power to travel at a rate of speed that is now faster than speed of thought. Think of that, tools that now allow us to travel faster than the speed of thought, its truly amazing. This shift in the speed in the access to information now forces companies to consider the power business model of what I call a “flexible business framework” (FBF) to manage everything it sees as fast as the information flows into the center of its knowledge base, and decision centers.

The friction points in any business creates natural funnels, these funnels restrict the speed and free flow of information. Of course, AI technology dramatically reduces these funnel effects by reducing the friction points found within all businesses. The opportunity today is that AI systems are now faster than humans at gathering, reading, processing, and interpreting data to the point of making millions of decisions in mere seconds. Thus moving business at faster than the speed of thought.

At HouseCheck Corporation we think about this flow of information every day, because data is the biggest part of what we do. We are a small part of the largest industry on earth the $36 trillion-dollar asset base Real Estate business here in the United States. The information needed for home is basically endless and extremely complex. Finding all that information regarding a home in one place is not a reality today. But reality is now coming to the real estate industry and the consumer at the speed of thought. 

When you go to create a FBF model you must be willing to have many moving parts going at the same time. It is creating many businesses within the framework of one business. But beyond what happens within the business the FBF model must include alliance partners who can plug and play their business models at the speed of thought as well. Within HouseCheck for example we refer to it as the “infinity model” (IM) which is the ability to snap into play technologies, products and services with ease. To accomplish this, you simply cannot think inside the box, you can’t even think outside of the box, because even that process is way to slow today.

I like the idea of thinking before the box. In that environment with a clean sheet of paper you are free to create a new box so big that you cannot see to the outer edges of the box you are creating. Because business can scale so so large so quickly they can create a box so large that outer edges of the box is lost from view, this is because of the curvature of the earth hides it from view. When you do that, you no longer believe you’re within a box of your own creation. Instead you are working within a FBF model that is constantly pushing the walls of the box outward, walls that are inherent in any business model. The IM model doesn't like walls it can see, feel or touch, it is not bound by walls or to the mere limitation of thought, it focuses on all that is possible and the way the world can be verse the way the world is.

Of all the data on the planet today the one that is increasingly becoming more and more important is data regarding the everyday typical home. Today we can learn upfront anything and everything we want, except for the home. The very product that is the largest asset of most Americans. The home is still is in large part a mystery to the home seller, buyer and owner. In todays world we can learn everything about the history of a car, but we cannot do the same for the typical home, at least not yet. Sure you can get surface level information, but the real value of a home is found within its details.

Moving at a rate faster than the speed of thought requires a new kind of game for business executives. It’s like a basketball game with a new set of rules that allows five basketballs in play the same time, with ten players on each team. In that game everything happens faster with more ways to score and more ways one has to defend their position. Things are moving so fast in that game that there is no longer time to communicate in the typical fashion, professional just move at greater and greater speed to score points and pivot with each other at great speed. This type of FBF model requires executives with new skill sets with more authority to move within their sphere of influence at greater speed. FBF is more than a mere business model it’s a way of thinking, managing and seeing how everything plugs and plays like a Lego set with endless possibilities an infinity model. The idea that everything can be controlled centrally only creates a funnel that slows growth.
