Moving on
After five years at the Metropolitan Police I will be moving on next month to the Serious Fraud Office as Head of Communication.
It's been an extraordinary and testing period in the history of the Met and one in which our approach to telling our story publicly and engaging our large workforce has changed hugely.
Under the leadership of Sir Mark Rowley I am proud of our bold and candid approach, clearly setting out our agenda for reforming the organisation, facing our challenges head on and putting frontline officers first.
We haven't always got it right, but overall we are telling the story with more impact than ever of how our 46,000 officers and staff are delivering for Londoners.
I won't dive into a roll call of thanks here but our successes have only been possible due to the professionalism, hard work and compassion of my team and others across policing and the criminal justice system.
It was great to meet some future colleagues at the Serious Fraud Office (UK) yesterday and I am looking forward to helping to build on their great work.

6 个月Chris it was a privilege working with you and best of luck for the future! I think it's important to reflect on the last 5 years as they have been extraordinary for policing and the coms and #engagement team. Just off the top of my head I can think of Brexit, George Floyd Murder, BLM protests that followed. COVID 19 Pandemic and anti vaccination protests.that followed incl disproportionately, PMART, Murder of Sarah Everard, Wayne Couzens, David Carrick , Baroness Casey Review and all the high profile cases, Bianca Williams, Child Q, Officer NX121, Israel Hamas conflict, ongoing protests and there's plenty more. The Metropolitan Police Coms and Engagement Team have been incredible and worked tirelessly which has not been an easy feat as there is so much scrutiny around #policing. I take my hat off to all my current and ex colleagues in coms and engagement (DMC) for doing a very difficult job and publishing some great articles. Sadly the last few years have had a toll as so many experienced staff are leaving. Anyway I think you're all incredible, thank you for all you do!
