Moving Ahead

Nine years ago to the date, I was flying over South of Pakistan en-route to my new home, Dubai. I think the plane was near Gwadar that I started having butterflies in my stomach. As per my calculations, we were about an hour away from landing. An hour away from the un-known. An hour away from the country I didn’t know much about. An hour away from the culture I only heard rumours. Most importantly I was coming into a country to work in an industry about which I had zero experience and I was starting back at entry level.

Nine years on and I look back at my career and by grace of God I can say I have done better than I expected. Joining Rotana was not an easy decision at the time but now I feel it was the best decision of my professional life. If someone is to ask me “how do you describe your life with Rotana?” only one word comes to mind; GLORIOUS. It wasn’t always easy, lots of challenges, trials and tribulations on the way but one thing is certain! I was in an organization that valued its colleagues, surrounded by some of the best people in the business and had a team that cared for its members more than their individual targets.

Today I embark on yet another challenging road ahead with Rotana. I take on the sales leader role for 730 keys complex comprising of a luxury five star hotel, a deluxe hotel apartments and a three star hotel with 8 F&B outlets. With the current global economic crunch and the unknown of the Corona virus this role will most likely be the toughest one but one thing I am certain about. I am with the best bunch of professionals, with a team that is best in the business and an organization that is growing its global foot print. I look forward to the next nine years and I look forward to ensuring that I keep delivering the results that I have been trusted to deliver year on year.
