Manufacturing a new way to grow food with Anu

Led by former Rising 30 honoree and 2024 Forbes 30 Under 30 winner Scott Massey, Evansville-based Anu is utilizing technology somewhat analogous to a Keurig machine to create a proprietary product, where the consumer can produce and grow their favorite produce inside his or her home.??

Boat manufacturer, Smoker Craft, named 2024 Manufacturing Innovation Award winner

Innovation Award winner. The award was announced at the 25th annual Mira Awards program presented by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), Salesforce and a host of the state’s most innovative companies, universities and organizations.?

Smoker Craft and this year's nominees exemplify innovation in a manufacturing environment. The Elkhart County boat manufacturer adopted a 7-axis robotic tube welding system to automate every part of its pontoon assembly process, transforming the way the company produces pontoons.??

Congratulations to Smoker Craft and the 2024 nominees , Circle Bev, Liberty Trailers, Photon Automation, POLARIS Laboratories and Soil-Max.

Conexus launches Regional Familiarization Tours

Last year, Conexus Indiana Advanced Industry Council partners expressed interest in getting out of their home counties and visiting more regions across the state to learn industry and economic development best practices from one another.??

That request was heard and earlier this month Conexus launches its first, quarterly Regional Familiarization Tour, or “Fam Tour.”??

The first tour took us to Delaware County for a presentation from the Innovation Connector, a local entrepreneur support organization and business incubator, and plant tours at Muncie-based machinery manufacturer, Dannar, and Yorktown-based component manufacturer, Mursix.??

The next regional tour is scheduled for June in Northwest Indiana.

Indiana Global Economic Summit returns this May

Indianapolis is hosting its second Indiana Global Economic Summit, May 23-26, bringing business leaders from all over the world to the Hoosier state. The summit promises opportunities to strengthen cooperation across industries and state lines and to advance conversations that drive transformative ideas on the economy of the future. It’s also an avenue for attending the greatest spectacle in racing...the Indy 500.??

Conexus Indiana, along with its fellow CICP initiatives, is supporting the Indiana Economic Development Corporation with the summit and encouraging industry leaders to consider how they might engage with the event this May.
