MOVEMBER

No Shave November, also known as Movember, is a month-long campaign that raises awareness and funds for men's health issues.

The actual story behind this tradition dates back to 2009 when a Chicago-based Hill family decided to raise money for Cancer cases in men. This project held special meaning to the eight children of the Hill family after their father, Matthew Hill, passed away from colon cancer in November 2007.?

The nonprofit initiative aims to raise awareness by embracing and allowing our hair, which many cancer patients lose due to the heavy medication and chemotherapy processes, to grow freely and untamed. The idea was to donate the money you would otherwise spend on grooming and shaving to help those battling cancer, save lives, and raise awareness about cancer prevention.?

No-Shave November has grown from a few Facebook fans who were willing to part with their equivalent of monthly hair maintenance expenses to thousands of donations for fighting cancer; to setting up a personal No-Shave November fundraising page.?
