Move Something Forward!

Move Something Forward!

Powering Your Potential often talk to people about doing the small things that cumulatively make a big difference. PYP is focused on helping people and businesses go further, faster so to do that it also needs to ensure some of them make a big difference on their own!?

Yes, setting your alarm 15 minutes earlier in a morning is a start and having a plan for using the 15 minutes to invest in yourself in some way is great.?Just 15 minutes every day for you to be better, who wouldn't want that!

If you want to really make a difference then this does work if you focus this time on something you have been putting off, get it done and out of your mind.?

The power of 15 minutes can however be far more impactful. A small thing PYP do with sales teams is to make a daily 15-minute entry in their Calendar simply entitled "Move Something Forward". This time could be used for re-engaging with a contact that has gone cold, following up the client conversation about that new project, spent on product development, running a colleague through your pitch or presentation for the next day or it could be reviewing long term project or objective to determine and action the next incremental steps.?

It is a do something, rather than nothing in the 15 minutes to, move something forward!?

Powering Your Potential know this should be happening anyway, in every organisation but our experience tells us, it simply doesn’t. It is not habitual and therefore often needs to be structured.?If you are a leader of any team of people, try it, you will be surprised.

Also, when I knew there were going to be lots of actions from a sales or other meeting, I would time the agenda to finish 15 minutes early so people had the time available to immediately perform or at least start, their allocated actions. No excuses, let’s get them done now and start to move things forward!?

Imagine people doing their actions, not just before the next meeting, but before the minutes are even produced! They then have the period between the two meetings to actually Move Something Forward as opposed to just confirming the action is done.?

This simple change positively impacts the pace, mood and culture in meetings, building a momentum that quickly ripples across the business.

Now that is the true Power of 15 minutes!
