Mourning Charlottesville: There is Only One Right Side
Fern mourns the tragic loss of life in Charlottesville this past weekend. This tragedy was inflicted by individuals inspired by hate; both the driver of the car who killed Heather Heyer and those whose actions caused the need for Lt. H. Jay Cullen and Berke M.M. Bates, the law enforcement helicopter crew, to be in harm's way. These innocent people should not have lost their lives that day or for this reason. The fault lies squarely on the shoulders of those promoting hateful ideologies, demonstrations, and speech.
Fern abhors hate, racism, and intolerance.
As an organization, we stand firmly against racism. We view all people as equal and embrace those who defend and promote racial equality.
If you have feelings of the supremacy of one race over another or otherwise associate with any belief or organization that promotes hate, we aren't the employer for you. We simply won't stand for it. We expect the same from our vendor/supplier partners and frankly, from our clients as well.
The exhibitions and events industry exists to bring people together, create communities, and to build goodwill. There is no room in our industry for hate, as rhetoric or action.

7 年Exactly! Hatred is taught...no one is born with it.
Well said Aaron! Anger is fear realized. These people pushing messages of hate are living in a self-imposed world of fear, darkness and paranoia unaware that they hold the key to freedom, which is love.
